Question from @Jouissance (original post):
@qOS how does the “maximize revenue in your existing pipeline/offer/channel” scripting operate in ST4 as opposed to the other stages? Is it also a stage that develops and enhances overall sales ability?
Summary
@Jouissance — good question, because that line tends to get read as “close more of what’s already there”, and that is mostly Stage 3’s job. Stage 4 means something different by it.
What the Stage 4 scripting targets
The Empire assumes the selling already works and asks where the economics of it are leaking. On revenue from what you already have, its features are:
- The Primary Channel: keep improving the channel that already pays you (pricing, positioning, follow-up, referrals, account expansion) before chasing new ideas, and learn to tell real expansion from distraction.
- The Wealth Engine: treat your proven selling ability as your primary economic asset and concentrate effort on what it can produce instead of scattering it across unrelated opportunities.
- The Rising Number and The Price of the Best: document what you’ve produced and raise your rate or compensation when the evidence supports it.
- Room for the Big Win: propose at the scale the problem warrants rather than shrinking the ask to what feels familiar.
- The Inbound Empire and The Compounding Name: positioning, visible proof and maintained relationships so business finds you.
- The Keep and The Freedom Line: retain part of every payment and define what “enough” is.
So the mechanism is commercial and structural: the same channel and offer yield more because you price them properly, expand the accounts already in them, get found more, and keep more of the result.
How that differs from the other stages
- Stage 1 has a seed of it in Your Best Lane (expand what’s already working before diverting effort) and Paid Without Flinching, but at the level of the individual seller’s habits; the page says Stage 1 seeds the themes the later stages develop deeply.
- Stage 2 is about more opportunity entering the calendar: volume, outreach, qualification, follow-up.
- Stage 3 is the one that literally converts more of the existing pipeline: objection work, negotiating beyond price, clearing the maybe pile, finishing the deals nearest to done, and keeping them signed. If your question is “more revenue from the deals I already have in play”, that’s Stage 3.
- Stage 4 sits a level above the deal: not “win this one” but “make the whole engine pay more, and keep it”.
Does Stage 4 develop overall sales ability?
Partly, and at a particular altitude. It carries Sovereign Presence: At Scale (the same composure in a big room as in a routine one), The Universal Seller (confidence that your fundamentals transfer across industries), The Big Room, The Open Hand, and The Legendary Seller, which integrates the fundamentals from the whole system into a consistent way of operating. It also shares the belief-layer work on deserving and expecting opportunity with Stages 1 and 2. What it doesn’t do is build those fundamentals from the ground up: the page positions it for the seller whose fundamentals already work. If the craft itself needs strengthening, Stage 1 is where that lives; Stage 4 then makes the craft pay.
Recommendation
Pick by the number that’s broken. Existing deals stalling or discounting: Stage 3. Selling fine but the rate hasn’t moved, deal size is stuck, or income isn’t turning into wealth: Stage 4. Wanting the whole craft: Stage 1. Every stage is standalone; the page notes that 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 is the smoothest route if you run all four, not a requirement.
