This is a big one, legends.
SYNERGY is a massive project we’ve undertaken to fulfill multiple goals at once for Q. These are:
- Minimize how overwhelming the Q store is to someone new to Q.
- Streamline the number of modules.
- Lessen the confusion that comes from modules that hit same areas but different aspects - up until now we resolved it with creating the differences and similarities section, but wanted a better solution.
- Increase the customizability for the more advanced users, giving them more advanced options to play around with and experiment.
- Increase the power of modules.
- Increase the usage of the synergy effect that happens between modules, especially ones that hit similar aspects, without making it too complex for users to use.
- Allow you to
cram moreadd more modules that would have been too much in a standard custom, giving you even greater flexibility of modules and customization.
Most of these features have been asked for by the community over and over again ever since the release of Q. Sadly, when we would be brainstorming as to how to achieve them, we came to the same outcome - they conflict with each other.
How can you have more choice with less?
You can, with…
MP15: SYNERGY.
We’ve taken 112 modules that had the most potential for the synergy effect and simultaneously were causing confusion, added some additional features and synergy-enhancing scripting and created 37 new SYNERGY modules.
These SYNERGY modules consist of 2 to 6 of the old modules each, and yet when building out your custom, each will count as 1 to 2 modules only (depending on how many modules in each SYNERGY module).
In other words, you can add a SYNERGY module which will hit many aspects and yet only have it count as 1 module.
Simple.
This allows us to hide the 112 modules from the main Q store, streamlining how the store appears to a new user, making it less overwhelming.
However, here is where the advanced users get to really experiment and play around.
By combining a SYNERGY module with one of its constituent modules, you unlock an even greater effect allowing for a massive focus on that specific aspect in your custom.
This is why the 112 FOCUS modules will be going into their own category, in a separate group from the main store, allowing a whole new aspect of customization for the more advanced users.
How would this work in practice?
Let’s go over an example. I’ll use @Vesper’s latest iteration of the Nomadic King custom:
Remove Instant Spark and Long-Range Seduction - replace with Synergy: Beyond Seduction.
Remove Gorgeous Manifestor - replace with Synergy: Perfection Manifestation.
Remove Seducer’s Gaze - replace with Synergy: Inescapable Gaze.
Remove Emperor’s Voice - replace with Synergy: Voice is the Law.
Remove Story Teller - replace with Synergy: Tale of the Dragon.
We get 1 extra module slot with a great addition of synergistic effects. Greater ability to tell stories, more powerful voice transformation, significantly more powerful gaze effect, manifestation and seduction.
With the extra 1 module we can increase the auric effect even more by adding Synergy: Primordial Aura or keep it as is for more focus.
This is an example for how significantly we can expand the scope and power of the custom while keeping it largely the same.
Let’s make an example of how we can cut a custom down, giving it more focus or more freedom to add more modules - I’ll take @Malkuth’s Paths of Wealth custom:
Remove Financial Success Reality Shifter, Unrelenting Wealth Motivation and Energy, Sultan, Debt Annihilator, Wealth Limit Destroyer, Positive Being Attractor - Wealth, and Secrets of Akasha - Wealth.
Replace it with Synergy: The Golden One.
Remove Yggdrasil, Jupiter, Divine Will.
Replace it with Synergy: Divine Dominion.
Now we have 8 free extra slots. What do you wish to add, @Malkuth? 
Let’s customize it further with Synergy, as @Malkuth is an advanced user and wants even greater focus on developing his inner power.
Rather than replacing Power Awareness, we add Synergy: Heaven Shaking Power. Power Awareness is one of its constituent modules. By adding both the Synergy and the Focus module, both the scope and power of the inner power aspect of this custom is massively increased.
The strength and focus of Power Awareness is increased significantly, while there is a massive scope increase due to Synergy: Heaven Shaking Power.
Then we do the same with Lion IV - we add Synergy: At The Top, and the power and focus of Lion IV is significantly increased while adding even greater scope to the power aspect of this custom.
6 free extra slots - we can leave those up to @Malkuth to fill, or simply leave them empty for greater focus of the custom.
I believe this is enough examples of the scope of SYNERGY, and what an advanced user can accomplish by utilizing both the SYNERGY and FOCUS modules in tandem.
If you’re a new user however, don’t worry - you can simply use the SYNERGY modules and all will be well.
And if you don’t want to use SYNERGY, don’t worry - you can continue using those 112 modules through the upcoming FOCUS group (we’ll be switching them over after launch).
