I need to run HERO Origins, craft my own sword, and start swinging that mfer. Rofl, this title is badass. “Sage and a Blade”.
Don’t swing around with your sword too much
Might get you too much into side quests
This has sadly become a forgotten title. I think because it really requires a long-term commitment, and seemingly few people are willing to give it the time it deserves.
I’m planning on starting this one next month, hopefully I can stick with it for at least a full year. My stack had been very spiritually focused for the last 6 months (Alchemist), but I need to start balancing that out somewhat.
Right now I’m deciding on whether to run a name-embedded major that adds a NSE core (perhaps New Skills Experience or New Result Enhancing Experience), or build a small 10-module custom. I’m leaning toward the custom because my intention for any long term title is to build a QTKS custom around it, and I’d rather test it first as a regular custom in case it needs tweaking.
I’d stick with a single core at first, but I’ve been thinking a lot about how this would combine with either Singularity and/or CWON later on. Seems to me that could be a beautiful combination.
Major name embedded HERO, with which module?
I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee
I also plan to use HeO again next month, It has been 4 months since the last time I used it.
This year, I’ll incorporate 1-2 months off of the sub every 4-5 months instead of using it straight like last year. I found out that a break is useful for me to retain clarity.
That sounds like a good combination.
CWON is in line with HeO’s focus on the “higher purpose”.
Just by the description, both will enhance each other really well.
They would be a beautiful combination indeed.
There is an addition coming to this line.
Aye, and it adds a wonderful sense of serenity and peace that would helpful in these chaotic times. But I’m hesitant because of the leadership focus. I’ve never enjoyed being responsible for others, whether in my career or my personal life. I prefer the solitary route. And it may not be necessary, which is why I’ll decide later about adding other cores.
Singularity would also be a good combination for me, helping resolve some contradicting beliefs I have within myself with regards to this title. Additionally the energetic scripting would directly benefit both the physical and spiritual aspects of Hero, and especially with some eastern practices I’m involved with that would directly compliment it.
And who knows, since my spirituality has a very practical focus anyway, this combination may even be enough for me to make this my primary title instead of Alchemist.
I should also say, I’m not actually interested in becoming anyone’s “hero”, my focus is entirely on personal development.
Yeah, it sounds like AS will fit you better than CWON.
It would be a great sub to help with getting the most out of HeO’s high moral goals.
AS’s energetic aspect will also be enhanced by HeO’s mastery & recovery scripting.
I wasn’t interested in that too when I ran it, and I’m still not.
But HeO will bend to what you want.
The most that HeO will do is to make you have the qualities of a hero, whether you want to use that to be a hero for other people is up to you. Either way, it’s immensely useful for personal growth.
They said it would be the finale of this season.
Saint said that he needed to cut down the scripting or it would be an 8 stagers, so it’s safe to assume that the next HERO title would be a multistager.
I wonder what it would be about. HeO is just the base for the next HERO titles after all.
So this one might be more niched, or the expanded version of HeO.
I have not tested this but I feel like this may be the most underrated sub here.
I’m curious if the moral code (or even Japanese background flavor) has fewer people choose to run it.
If it was just mastery and massive growth in whatever one cares about and enhanced physical, combat, and spiritual prowess, I feel like everyone would be jumping on it.
Although the moral development creates the Hero component
The reason I didn’t run this much is the focus on combat/martial arts.
I don’t have any interest in fighting, so I wonder how useful running the sub is if my mind will be working to actively discard major parts of it.
However everything else sounds awesome, the virtue scripting, etc.
I think many did jump on it when it was released, but few stayed on it. Most people here are still trying to figure out the basics, like wealth and relationships, so Hero’s focus is simply not a realistic or practical option.
Also, the focus on long-term development probably doesn’t appeal.
For those interested in just physical development there’s LOTS and EF. For those just interested in combat there’s Spartan and the Weapon X titles. For those just interested in spirituality there’s Alchemist and Sage Immortal. Hero falls somewhere in between the three. I consider it a niche title. And while some people may fantasize about being a sword-wielding hero and give this a short run, I suspect few are willing to commit to anything long enough to achieve mastery over it. Honestly I have no idea if I will either.
This is my concern with HeO too.
I included a sword training when I used it, but that’s all there’s to it, a fun workout.
I got into exactly 0 physical fights/sparrings while using HeO, probably thanks to the Survival Instinct X scripting in HeO. But the whole fighting script was just left unused for almost a year.
Maybe it’s useful when you play games, that’s the closest thing to fighting that I can think of without actually going physical, but I don’t play games either so the script can’t manifest there.
It didn’t matter though, the other parts of HeO made up for it.
It’s still my favorite sub even when a good chunk of the script is borderline useless for me.
Maybe making it into a name embedded major and using MDFY: One Goal will be better to take the focus away from the fighting script.
Yeah, I think HeO is one of the subs that only shows its full potential after you’ve used it for quite some time. The virtue scripting etc requires time to gather, accept & internalize.
When you’ve become not just accustomed, but also live by the virtues, it becomes one of the best things the sub could offer you.
I gave it a long run.
While I didn’t become a sword wielding hero, the act of practising itself helped me fix, improve & figure out other things in my life. It’s the “master 1 thing to master others” aspect of HeO working.
From my experience, It’s a constant loop that keeps on feeding itself.
Focus on 1 thing and it will help other things that you do on the side.
Then what you get from the other things will help you improve on the 1 thing you focus on.
The more you use HeO, the more apparent this cycle will be.
That’s the thing though, I don’t really want to do a sword training. There are no reputable Qi Gong masters in my area (not that I’d even know how to fully distinguish between one who knows their shit and a charlatan). I don’t have a big interest in BJJ or Muay Thai or boxing.
I’m a chill guy. I’ve never even been competitive about sports or anything like that.
So while the virtue scripting and the inner development and the benevolent alpha vibes are all very attractive to me in the sub, the fact that it’s heavily geared towards this external battle type scripting is turning me off. If it was ambiguous type scripting that could easily apply to INTERNAL battles of dominating the lower self, then that would be exciting to me. But that’s not the read I am getting on it.
Same issue I have with Khan. I am not interested in dominating the world. I am interested in dominating my lower self, my animal instincts, so I can grow spiritually and slowly start to transcend.

That’s exactly what HeO is designed to do.
It doesn’t make you fight. I ran it for months never fought, never incorporated any martial training and still had tons of benefits.
This is more about living excellence in every area of your life and becoming very disciplined. That’s why I love to run it every now and then for the discipline enhancement.

Okay that eases my mind
Appreciate you for sharing bro thank you
Hero is about mastery in any discipline. It brings the 7 Virtues of Bushido into your life. I used Hero while preparing for an exam. Worked very well.
I’ve been thinking about this title.
But now is not yet the time.
Interesting confluence around my play of Dragon Reborn Gold.
First I played my first loop (as a full-loop). I played it 2 days after my wife and daughter had returned from a trip (to Japan, actually, in keeping with the themes). There have been major flu patterns sweeping around Japan. Had an emotional conflict at home. Then the following day got blasted by the flu and did not listen to subs for the week from 12 Jan to 17. By the following week’s Saturday, I was well again. I played 3 minutes of Dragon Reborn Gold.
That night, I had a dream in which I was trying (unsuccessfully) to perform the first routine of Chen style Tai Chi (taijiquan). I woke with a fully-formed motivation to relearn the set, and was able to do so strangely quickly in addition to noticing features and characteristics that I had not noticed before and that enabled me to easily remember the 74 movements.
Since then I’ve been (mellowly) maintaining daily practice.
It was a very clear result from Dragon Reborn Gold. I mention it here because I believe that Hero Origins would create similar effects for me.
I also mention this because I think that when there is a dimension or factor within you that is almost ripe, many programs will facilitate its expression and fruition.
I think that some of the processes within me that are currently being catalyzed and energized by Dragon Reborn Gold may at some point in the futre be supported and carried forward by Hero Origins.
