I’ve been studying the Tom Fox anatomy book. I also have his Domestika course.
I really like the TWSBI Eco fountain pens for drawing. I am using one with Platinum Carbon Black and the two others with Deatramentis Document inks, Urban Sienna and Light Grey.
Maya, is that you my darling?
Great work Iron!
Have you looked into Cascadeur? (animation software)
🤌✨
5char!
A new journal cover I put together in Adobe Express. Not my original work from scratch, though I do love putting good looking things together.
Hope you’re enjoying the Evolve course
Yes.
It is a great course for fundamentals and they run it well.
I had taken some workshops at an Atelier a few years back, and Evolve really does feel like a streamlined take on those learning processes.
I’ve tended to be much looser and expressionistic in my work and Evolve looked like a great way to slow down and work on the more exacting aspect of painting.
Have you done the course?
I have also been discovering Plein Air and that has been a nice contrast to Evolve.
Today I am starting a class dealing with lino printmaking. Will also start a life drawing class on Thursday.
I need to get back to Evolve after a year off, as I’m still in the second module. Perception and drawing are my weakest spots and the measuring exercises were hard. Once I can master those, I’ll be good.
It’s a thorough course. I like the fact that they start off with drilling value and edges early on as it becomes second nature. But I love acrylics 🫣
Printmaking, especially with gelli plates are fun and they take acrylics too. Some of the printing stuff on Instagram looks tempting to try out.
I’m on assignment 19 of Block One, so I will need to put together the box for the Block 2 drawing assignments.
Will do the next assignment on Friday and will try to finish 20 over the weekend or Monday of next week.
I need to look up the guidelines for the box so I can put that together.
I love acrylics, too, and have been making my work outside of Evolve from that.
The lino cut is interesting. I’ve done some screen printing and stone litho but that has been quite a while ago.
