Sigh.
It’s a reminder to me that time is short. No time to fuck around.
Fuck.
Oh yeah, that guy. When I saw the news I went to google who made Twin Peaks and yeah…time is short, depending on how you perceive it.

He was a heavy smoker
He had emphysema from smoking ever since childhood. Not sure even Paragon would’ve been enough by this point.
It might have given him a few extra years of life.
He strikes me as the type of guy that was already at peace with his situation. He wouldn’t have cared to live a few extra years.
Fittingly, this thread showed up just now for me in the rotation of older threads at bottom of the page.
He’s been a genius since before I was born. Was here for my entire lifetime.
Deeply unsettled me, his work.
A decades-long meditator and explorer of the symbols of the unconscious.
A cinematic shadow-worker.
Shining light on what people would like to hide or cover over.
A True Creative.
I feel very much the same.
Eraserhead was probably the film that influenced me most as a person and an artist, in a disturbing and very good way. Haven’t seen the film in ~15 years and it’s still very much present: The never fully born man, the body horror, the brutal, excruciating silence and the laughs out of desperation.
Yes. Artistically the last, incredibly self-referential and erratic season of Twin Peaks felt like a last look in the rearview mirror.
Have a good, long night, Mr. Lynch.
Had the exact same reaction when I saw it
Twin Peaks is his defining masterpiece
