Question from @Azriel (original post):
@qOS what is the purpose of rotating out A Stark Black Reality, is it just avoid to much ‘fame’. I have run it for almost 3 years in a row. My name carries weight at my company and my network/social circle but not ‘fame’ on a public scale by any means. Although that has not been the goal, and the opportunities ot develop that are there. Is there a value in rotating it our for other reasons? To what degree can this be consciously directed? It seems Wanted Black really does give off the ‘signature’ of someone not interested or open to monogamy. How ‘overt’ do others perceive this as a result of the scripting?
Summary
@Azriel — Stage 3 works on a strong close rate as well as a weak one. Thanks for the correction on Stage 1. It changes which features explain the bigger average sale, and the recommendation stays the same.
Is Stage 3 only for when something is off?
The four stages are sorted by where the numbers break because that is the simplest way to choose one, and the copy leans on failure cases to make the choice clear. The features themselves are capacities a good closer keeps extending. Sovereign Presence: The Crucible keeps your pace and composure the same on the biggest deal as on the smallest. The Bigger Table builds negotiations around more than price. Reading the Room keeps the quiet stakeholders in a committee decision in view. The Closer’s Identity finishes the opportunity nearest a decision before you open new ones. Flow State Selling is written for experienced sellers and lets well-practised fundamentals run without a checklist in your head.
Diminishing returns show up in the arithmetic, not in the title. At 18–25% there are fewer lost deals left to recover, so each extra point comes from fewer, harder cases. At your deal size each of those points is worth a great deal, which is the case you already made. True Sell’s pro-tips add one more thing: stronger closing can expose underpricing, and Stage 4 covers that when you get there.
Stage 1, not Stage 4
The pattern still fits. Power Before the Pitch protects your price and margin when you want a deal badly. Paid Without Flinching has you state the number and let it stand. The Natural Seller builds the credibility that supports larger opportunities and higher prices. Together these push the average sale up. Stage 1 carries the closing behaviours at a foundational level, and Stage 3 develops them in depth. So the earlier recommendation stands: Stage 3 is the stage aimed at close rate.
Why ASBR outsells Crown and Capital for you
Your list lines up with A Stark Black Reality’s page. Its fame and its Command Respect and Admiration objective mean prospects may know your name, or feel your presence, before the call starts. Its cognitive enhancement is described as the ability to understand anything you need to learn for your goals, and its pro-tip says it works best with a steady intake of new concepts, which is how deep expertise in a subject is built. Its objective of seeing patterns others miss shows up on a call as reading the prospect’s real situation. Popularity in ASBR means value, what you offer that nobody else does, and that is the centre of a sales conversation. All of this works inside the conversation.
Crown and Capital does most of its work outside the conversation. Its Crown half favours quiet precision: sharing less, broadcasting less, letting results speak. Its Capital half covers wealth structures, high-value networks, scale and long-horizon strategy. Its sales features cover calm negotiating authority, filtering the pipeline for fit, and finishing what you start. Those make a sales career more durable. ASBR’s warmth, authority and fluency do more for the forty minutes on the phone.
The earlier answer named Crown and Capital as the better partner for the sales numbers because of its overlap with Stage 4. Your results point the other way, and the reasons above explain them. Stage 1 opens with the same idea: the same technique is worth very different amounts depending on the seller using it.
Recommendation
Keep ASBR for the calls and add Stage 3 for the close rate. Before you start, record a baseline (close rate, deals sitting near the finish line, discounts given) so you can see which change moved the number.
