PLEASE READ: Q Policies + Coming Updates / Major Name Embeds (Open Discussion)

Or 8 hours. Those were the days

I still remember trying to squeeze in time to listen to subs whenever i could.

Morning walk? Sub
Working out? Sub
Eating? Sub

Sleep is forever altered for me. I always listened to a sub whenever i sleep that i still find it weird to sleep without any sound :joy:

Now we just need 37m at most. I usually spend only around 20m. ZP is very convenient.

I figured, lol.

I personally think that Subliminal Club’s leniency with that individual, is a work of art… if you understand both sides. It’s mind-blowing.

Overthinking of the day about name-embedding

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqDQjZzBe_I

An interesting case about how names and their pronunciations can differ when used in different languages. of course, the difference isn’t that outrageous when the name is spoken in english most of the time.

there are also people whose names were intended to originate from english, but the pronunciation is completely different in their native language, that’s the version that they hear the most during their childhood. But some will feel weird to use that pronunciation when the name is spoken in english.

depending on the language, the difference is not just a slight one like, let’s say, “viktor” in english & in russian. there are some differences, but the name still consists of 2 syllables with no tones, the consonants are still mostly the same (v,k,t. r is a bit different depending on the accent), and the vowels are still similar even though they are subtly different.

in some languages, the name can warp to such an extent that it has tones, different syllables, using “w” instead of “v” (heck, I’ve even heard it with “p” and “b”), etc. of course most people won’t have it that drastically, but there are people who do.

The problem is, which version should be used? the native version that sounds out of place in english, or the proper english version.

For the sake of experimentation, I propose every time we apply for a sub to be name embedded, we have a window asking should the machine use its default pronunciation or the alternative that the user has entered.

Regarding “Khan Black 2.”

We have the ability to only embed only the first name, while the digital watermark itself contains the full name, which will allow us to identify which customer “leaked” their files and allow us to ban them. Forgot to mention this before, which probably would’ve alleviated a lot of potential concerns.

We may also consider only watermarking the files with the full name and foregoing the actual name embed, but @Fire will most likely make the final call on that one. As we discussed today, it is not necessarily “piracy” that he wishes to prevent, but rather us releasing something like “Khan Black 2” and one of the problematic individuals simply downloading the file there, becoming unhinged and continuing to hurl accusations and abuse based upon their own issues.

The goal here – at least for myself – is creating a platform where we can create better products for individuals of sound mind while blocking those who need to contact a mental health professional.

We are also discussing alternative solutions with our merchant accounts, as we were just shown a demo of their new platform, which allows us to create some incredibly versatile rules to block problematic purchases in the first place.

We may be implementing 3D Secure and / or Trust Swiftly in the near future for certain purchases under limited circumstances. Trust Swiftly (edit: got the original name wrong), for example, is a third party vendor who verifies the identification of a potential customer. They will then match the identification with what was entered into our system, and then provide us with limited information to make a call. That information is not stored on our system, but rather their robust and secure platform.

The other benefit to this system, if we proceed, is that you will be able to choose the “power level” of your major titles. We are considering testing official versions of Terminus and Terminus Squared, options that we can lock or unlock based upon your demonstration of being able to handle more powerful titles. For example, we can unlock Terminus and T-Squared major titles for those who have reached Arch Alchemist.

While I find your concern for safeguarding powerful titles very legitimate, a potential problem with this could be that say a person does not belong to the forum(which as I recall you said are many - again, I may be wrong) and has been using major title/customs for a long time making him eligible for higher powered subliminals. But then such a person won’t be granted access just because he is not a part of forum.

In short, I agree that powerful titles should be safeguarded from mentally unstable individuals, but an efficient gatekeeping system too is needed that takes care of the complexity otherwise many deserving may miss out.

If you decide to only watermark the files it would still be cool to have the option to name embed for majors.

YES PLEASE

I want to be able to run a terminus squared sub without getting more customs

I currently want to build one, but the last one I ordered isn’t even completed yet (which was supposed to be the “stage 1 custom” of my stack, which won’t really have a use case in a week’s time anymore ), and the previous one was completed but no link :upside_down_face: so if you unlocked this, it would already be huge for testing stuff before considering customs in that level.

By the way, post count tells nothing about the quality. Amount of likes on the other hand…

Yeah there’s that too, especially considering the fact that a person can just make a few random threads and spam

The power levels are different density/rate of information per sec right?

@Invictus + @Hoppa : You guys probably remember a now banned member who joined and made it his personal mission to post as much as possible. Commenting multiple posts and starting multiple posts at the same time. He got promoted to Arch Alchemist pretty quick despite his posts being mostly low value.

PM me the order number. Those new email rules is causing such havoc in regards to custom delivery, and we did everything our email provider asked. Your other one should be in the queue right now.

Well, I suggest everyone start giving more ideas in what we can do than what we shouldn’t. For years, people have been asking for a system to allow mature, open-minded individuals to have more access. That time is now.

Done :+1:

I have an idea:

Choose people that you can think of off the top of your head, and you can also allow us Forum Ambassadors and Moderators to recommend you the people who we think are suited :+1:

Quality is kinda difficult to measure. But with post count, likes and (not more than X) flags one could probably set a sensible frame.

Ambassadors and mods could be notified and given the opportunity to object. (This complicates things of course a bit.)

Maybe specific badges would be helpful? E. g. some for answering questions of new users.

I agree, a referral system from trustworthy people like that seems to be the best option to start off with.
