Media players with inbuilt timer?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a media player for windows with an inbuilt timer?

I would like to set a playlist for my subliminal sessions, where I can preprogram it to e.g. play 5 minutes of a 15 minute track, then 10 minutes of another.

Setting my own alarms is ok, but not ideal.

Cheers :+1:

You can use a Task Scheduler for that purpose. VLC can play on a certain time or stop specific time.

I’m also very interested in finding this out, sometimes I like to lie down and go into deep relaxation while listening to subs and this would be very helpful to build a custom listening sessions without having to snap out of it to check time/start other sub.

Hey @JAnon , I’m happy to say I found a way to do exactly that without much hassle with VLC Media Player.

I made a few screenshots showing what to do, which leaves you with a file in the .xspf format that is a playlist containing only one track that is saved with your preferred end time, you can also add 2 tracks to the one playlist using the same setting if you decide to play each track the same amount of time.

Repeat the procedure for another subliminal track to save it as another playlist and when you are ready to play your loops simply add both playlist together in VLC and they will play the tracks of your choice with your desired end time one after the other!

A little note, when setting up a new playlist, remember to delete the previous track from the playlist and from the ‘advance open’ menu, because it stays there for some reason.

Oh dang, awesome!!

Thanks everyone for replying btw.

Have a great weakend all.

It’s a little more in depth, but once you get it setup it’s pretty customizable. Figured I’d share it again.
