Okay, so using iTunes on my PC allows me to preset listening times on my sub programs without changing the files at all. So, for as long as I am using shorter than full loops this is a pretty good option.
Here’s a picture from online:
You just right-click on the song, choose ‘Song Info’, and then go to the Options tab, and you can enter a start time and a stop time. Now whenever you play that song, it will abide by those times.
In the example in the picture above, when that song comes up in the queue, it will start playing from the 0:30 mark, and then play until the end.
I don’t see the same option on the smartphone, but it’s there on the computer. So that works perfectly.
After thinking about it for a while, I settled on those times mentioned above:
PHENOMENAUT Genesis: 150 seconds
POOLS Black: 300 seconds (I’m including this for longer because I wanted to make longer Paragon Complete exposure)
Hero Origins: 90 seconds
Two days ago, on Tuesday, I tried it for the first time. I played Phenomenaut Genesis and Hero. I hadn’t come up with these times yet, so I played each for 2 minutes, I think.
Then I decided that the next time I played subs, I would experiment with playing all three in the same day. Maybe do that for a week or 2 and see how it works.
So today I played all three programs back to back. 2.5 minutes, 5 minutes, and 1.5 minutes adds up to a 9-minute playlist.
I created two versions of the playlist, one Ultrasonic and one Masked.
Today I planned to, as I ate lunch, watch 10 to 15 minutes of a show I’m currently enjoying. After I finished cooking, I brought out my food, pressed ‘play’ on my playlist, and pressed play on the show.
I pretty much instantaneously ‘forgot’ all about the subliminals. And here’s the weird part.
At one point, I finished eating the food I’d served for myself, and without thinking of it, I paused the show and got up to get some more food. When I came back to the table, I suddenly remembered the subliminals. Oh, oops! I hadn’t quite finished that yet, had I?
Using the timestamp on the tv show, and knowing when I’d started watching and when I’d paused, I could figure out approximately how long I’d been listening to the sub. And the funny part is that based on my estimate, I took off my headphones and got up right when the third program was about to start playing.
Looks like my subconscious was giving me a break after playing two programs.
That kind of thing used to happen all the time. Little ‘coincidences’ that would influence which programs I listened to and for how long.
Anyway, yup, so that happened.
I still went back and listened to 90 seconds of the third program. hahaha.
