MALKUTH, Building : BUILDING, Malkuth

Disruptive conflict on the home front 2 days ago. Now things are quiet but I’m left unsettled and disturbed. Dealing with it.

Yesterday ended up not meditating until 11:45 pm, but I’m just grateful that I was able to do it.

Today, meditated earlier in the day. Noticed that it helped to settle my body and mind. After that, I decided it might be good to go do a run. Clear out the stress hormones a bit.

Ran about 4.7 miles. Then did my humble dumbbell routine.

Came back and cooked veggies (green beans, brocolli, celery) for son and me. And bought him some udon.

Now, I’m getting myself focused to do some more work. Deadline comes end of next week. Step-by-step ought to get there.

For me to be getting closer and closer to my 6-mile run is a quiet miracle. It still may be a little bit out of reach to do comfortably, but there’s no rush. If I keep doing only exactly what I’m doing now, I’ll be running 6 miles in about 2 or 3 weeks.

That’s a blessing.

Also, my left knee pain is gradually diminishing. Lucky.

The point of the workout is consistency over time. That beats any individual workout.

I want those long-term metabolic benefits, etc.

Working out is straight-forward. Dealing with people, more challenging.

The 1980s and 1990s were my childhood and early adulthood.

Feeling real tenderness and gratitude around those times and moments of life.

We’re so stupid.

We spend so much time looking outside of us to the world around us. Never realizing that almost everything we’re experiencing is coming from within or heavily influenced by what is within.

It’s not stupid. But sheesh, I can’t help calling it that sometimes.

I am flabbergasted at my ignorance.

What would it be like to spend one wise day? I wonder.

Anyway, all of this came up because I was remembering 1980s era Sting singing “so many souls/ with everything we see that we want to possess”

Learn to listen to the voice of your soul.

It’s the only way you’ll ever recognize success.

“I didn’t agree to live up to your expectations of me.”

How are you now, mate?

Also what are your thoughts about running any of the following with DR:
CFW
RoM
RoS

Thanks, friend.

Feeling okay. Taking it philosophically.

Intrigued.

Next time I may possibly be playing DR is August, or December. At least the way things look right now.

I’ve played CFW with DR before. I think it was in 2021. I remember it was a challenge at the time. When I play Dragon Reborn again it will be in the Dragon Reborn custom that I created. DRAKARI Transcend. Dragon Reborn and Chosen are the program cores.

Hello @Malkuth

Can we revisit the topic of meditation as I ask where to begin? I’d like to do a basic one in the morning to clear my mind

Absolutely.

There are 1000 doors into meditation and many of them can be satisfying and fruitful for you.

And the truth is you’ve already been through a number of them. But now you’re ready to go another step further.

What methods appeal to you intuitively?

I don’t know where to even begin, I’d like to be able to get the mental benefits, some people say meditating is silencing your mind and others say it’s about allowing it to go. I’d like to truly meditate

So my answer is, I don’t have enough knowledge to even know what methods do

 though I am very happy to begin either way! It’ll be a good compliment to my other stuff.

The good news is you’ve already been meditating.

Many times.

You just may not have thought of it as meditating. It happened naturally.

If you wanted me to walk, the easiest way would be to say “Hey, @Malkuth , there’s a book on the other side of the room. Could you please bring it to me?” I’d probably say, “Sure, @Yazooneh.” Then I’d go and get it and bring it over.

Nowhere in there did you have to mention or describe the famous Walking technique of bipedal ambulatory locomotion employed by humans of planet Earth. You just ask me to get the book and I naturally walk to get it because that’s the habitual way of moving around.

Meditation can be similar.

Instead of thinking, “Now it is time for me to do the technique known as Meditation” you can just allow it to happen by moving into the conditions where it happens normally and naturally.

That’s one way to approach it.

What experiences or phenomena fascinate you in this world?

Stars? Rocks? The ocean? People walking around? Music?

What are some of the things in which you find yourself becoming absorbed?

These days due to legacy relaxation scripting. ASMR. Chill music (with an emphasis on the whole rave vibe)

Hoping I’m answering your question

You are, most excellently, answering my question.

Much more importantly than that, you’re answering your question.

Now here’s one point:

Consider the difference between ‘thinking about’ something and ‘remembering’ something.

‘Thinking about’ something involves moving your analytical or observational awareness around it. What is it? What does it mean? How does it work? Is it what it seems? And so on. A wonderful skill to have.

Remembering in contrast is about connecting and reconnecting awareness to something that is a real part of your mind. ‘-member’ from ‘membrum’ or ‘limb’. ‘Re-member’. To connect with a reality that is a part of you. Bringing awareness, for example, to the fact that ‘ah, yes. This is my hand. These are my arms.’

Remembering is about connection. And Reconnection.

Consider for yourself the contrast between ‘thinking-about’ and ‘Remembering’.

Once that is clear to you, then we’re ready for the next step. Or feel free to share your thoughts about it, or to ask me for clarification.

I see! Some times I remember and sometimes I think about something and uncover it

Okay. So for this first meditation, you will stay with that action of remembering. I don’t mean remembering the past, I mean remembering the present. For example, if you were sitting in a room, with two other people, and you focused your concentration very deeply onto your computer or onto a book; after a while, you might take a break and sit back, and gradually you might remember that there are two other people in the room. Remembering. You don’t have to put them into the room or call them into the room. You just allow yourself to remember that, ‘Right! There are two other people in here.’

That’s the same mind that you will use in the meditation.

Here are the steps:

  1. Play music or ASMR sounds, whichever you feel like
  2. As you sit and listen for 5 minutes or 10 minutes, remember what is real.

The sounds that you are hearing, the sensation of your body, the ground beneath your feet, whatever is real, just allow yourself to remember it. And allow yourself to remember more and more of it.

Then when the 5-10 minutes are done. That’s it. One meditation session is complete.

Each time just keep remembering.

See what happens.

I did it. I awoke to my surroundings and I felt the difference.

It was only five minutes, or less

I got a lot more signs from my surroundings, and music was giving me messages.

It was difficult to do because people began to want my company

The more you do it, the farther you’ll go.

Just be natural.

You were already doing it. You’ve done it many times.

That was actually a profound experience. I looked up and a girl was staring at me (I know her) and she wanted me to come sit with her. And my song was hinting something like “I want you so bad” were the words or something in the song during that moment.

It’s profound because it makes me recognize how much awareness is required to understand opportunity.
