That’s an interesting word to define such a philosophy.
I’ve always known it as “subjective idealism”.
I always (since I was a kid) enjoyed thinking about the idea that we may be in a simulation or that, akin to a game, only what I see, hear, smell and taste in this moment needs to be rendered in the screen of space, and the rest of the world generates and extends continually as I move around, to convince myself of my beliefs, to “save Earthly RAM”.
This is similar to solipsism also. I used to be very deep into these kinds of philosophies and it felt extremely lonely. Since then I’ve found satisfaction in not trying to understand reality but rather changing it and enjoying it to the best I can.
Edit: I also forgot to mention that Randonautica is based on a similar concept, where you generate random co-ordinates and go to them to explore your subconscious mind. I don’t know if it works. I tried it before it was hyped up on TikTok. But not enough to draw any conclusions.
Edit2: Trumann Show comes to mind. It gave me goosebumps when I watched it many years ago. Also Black Mirror, ep “Hang the DJ”. Whenever I listen to Panic by The Smiths, I feel like I am in a simulation, as this was a song I loved when I believed in this philosophy (the song is featured in that Black Mirror episode).
