If I rebuild a custom with index gate now, will the custom have the updated index gate?
Thank you.
If I rebuild a custom with index gate now, will the custom have the updated index gate?
Thank you.
Will it synergize with SB ?
any reasons for no?
Why wouldn’t it?
It should compliment it well. Index Gate is a technical skills sub, SB is a business innovation, wealth and fame sub. Now take a deeper look at this
If you have that type of business whether you’re the CEO or the chairman, you WILL NOT be doing any coding, programming, or technical work. None! Zero! You’ll have dozens or hundreds of people under you doing that. You’d be too busy leading the business and being the face of it. At that point what would be the reason of filling your mind with Index Gate if you’re not going to write one line of code?
Now of course you have to get to the point where you have a business that size. NR might be a better option because it would allow you to make money using the specific skills you’ll be developing with Index Gate.
My 2 cents…
Your right will leave indexgate for now. thanks. Also i am running WB, Primal N and SB in a custom so IG on top of that might be an overload…
That’s not entirely true, a lot of technology CEOs have coded their own products. Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Google, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.
“have coded”: past tense. Meaning they’re no longer coding even though some of them did code when the company was in its infancy and they couldn’t afford to hire developers. They all quickly stepped away from that as soon as they could. Except for Steve Jobs who never wrote one line of code. He was a sales guy. Steve Wozniak was doing the coding.
Today though most tech CEOs aren’t doing any tech work. Many of them don’t even have a tech background. For the types of businesses Stark Black is supposed to help you build, you will need to quickly step away from tech work to focus on sales and leadership. Even Chief Technical Officers don’t do tech work. They mostly oversee and supervise people who do the tech work.
Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO is not a tech guy. Jeff Bezos is not a tech guy. Elon Musk is not a tech guy. Sundar Pichai Google’s CEO is a mechanical engineer who also has an MBA. He never was a computer scientist and didn’t join Google in a tech role but he is leading the largest tech company in the world.
Cutting-edge technical skills (like Index Gate is supposed to help you develop) can get you started in a tech role for sure but the higher you go in the company (if you’re an employee) or the larger your business grows (if you’re an entrepreneur), the more you will have to focus on sales, management and/or leadership. For that, Index Gate is not going to help you one bit. Stark Black will.
My main question is still relevant: if someone is running Stark Black to build a large business, why would they waste time trying to become a coding or programming wiz when they could just outsource that task or hire someone to do it and they focus business growth instead?
Edit: Look at all those tech CEOs. None of them is still sitting at a desk, typing lines of code. They have a fiduciary duty to shareholders. Their job is to keep the company profitable. Not to debug algorithms, write code, or stuff like that.
So SB is the wrong choice for techies is what your saying ? its more for business people ?.
I am a technical lead however there are times when i have to get my “hands dirty”. and ensure developers dont try and pull the wool over my eyes.
The simple answer would be they like coding or programming. I think for a lot of tech oriented people there’s joy in the problem solving process. It fulfills them. It would be the equivalent of not being able to beat a video game and you just pass it off to a friend to beat it for you. Sure you get to the end goal but you lose the experience.
I think for those types of people it’s better to outsource the sales and management.
I have got a feeling from personal experiences that IG may even assist in enhancing other subs in the stack. Anyone fancy testing with me ? . The reason i say this is when I feel that a particular product is uncomfortable to listen to or i get recon. Listening to an intelligence based sub seems to mitigate the effects.
I mixed this one in this morning after Phoenix.
It’s been a long time since I could feel a subliminal taking effect, but this time I could feel my mind reorganizing ideas and structures of thinking about coding and the issues I’m running up against as I build out the payment and user level integration.
I don’t have the answer yet, but I was immediately inspired to watch a tutorial on Astro, as I am building most of the site with it after realizing I didn’t need all the horse power built into Nextjs.
I was able to build a working MVP with mostly html, tailwind CSS and a little JavaScript. So now I’m using the simplest framework possible to rebuild it with a method for confirming with Stripe that a user is on active membership level for access to the tools.
If I knew a WordPress plugin to achieve this I would just use that, as I’m very familiar with the platform.
No matter what, I feel as if the solution is right around the corner.
Is the function you’re describing something you could make a plugin for, and sell it? Or even just release it free/GPL to get exposure for your other projects?
I’ve found the WordPress equivalent. I have to do some testing, and rebuilding, but if this works, I’ll be ready to launch, but I won’t know for a few more days.
Other pressing obligations are taking precedent.
I am one of those guys. I do enjoy problem solving even if it takes me hours and days. Obvious this is not something healthy for the business world but in my time outside work.
Yes, it is.
So the question is: would you be willing to forgo this little pleasure to be able to make (much) more money?
Just do it with side projects in the evening, but leave the important problems to others while caring about the business?
Here’s the thing, it’s all about what’s important to you. Some people like the x part some the y.
Examples:
Recently game studio Arrowheads blew up with their game Helldivers 2 (I think that’s the game) and the main guy (Johan Pilestedt) made a decision that he enjoyed the game developing and design aspect more than the business and so he hired a CEO and he is now CTO.
I think John Cormach also faced this dilemma because he loved coding and optimising games but decided to go the CEO route.
Anyway it’s pretty common and you might have to pick but don’t worry about making that decision now, and don’t believe that just because you chose the less business focus you’re not going to make tons of money and do the thing you love.
Money is not an issue for me i am happy with what i get paid. I use my spare time to work on my own personal projects just for personal fullfilment.
