How To Stop Wanking (To Porn)

Porn is the antithesis to self-improvement. It’s literally pointless and offers no benefits even though it seems like it does. Lethargy, anxiety, procrastination, I could go on and on… and yet, here we are. Millions have ruined their lives with porn. Millions have not reached their fullest potential because of this addiction. Millions struggle every day.

I encourage everyone to read the PMO Hackbook if you really want to quit, for real this time: https://pmohackbook.org/. I forget where I found this, but I’m glad I did. Read it page by page, and don’t skip around. See you guys on the other side.

So did you start nofap? :slightly_smiling_face:

Porn-free but I would love to practice semen retention and get to the point where I can orgasm without ejaculation during sex. Right now, I need to work on sexual transmutation practices. Khan ST4 makes me feel sexual pretty much all day.

Oh yeah sexual transmutation with khan sounds awesome. I would love to do that.
Is there any book you follow for that?

Yep. Same here when I ran Khan ST4. Was constantly walking with a boner. Made it a bit difficult to pick up/drop off my kids at school. Kept getting sideways glances from moms picking up their kids. :joy:

There is one module that can save everyone: PoMaQ

Not at the moment. I hear Kriya Yoga can help.

Man, I’m crying tears hahaha. That is just wrong :joy: :joy: :joy:

I’m sure that module is effective, but if one wants to be proactive and take an action that will effortlessly curb their addiction, they should read that handbook. Seriously, it’s gold and not even that many pages. Plus, I don’t want to use one of the 20 module spots available in a custom just for porn. And now, I don’t have to. If you struggle with porn, read that handbook. It’s free, open-sourced, and many, many people have used it with incredible success. A decent amount of people on this forum struggle with PMO so I hope it can help them finally quit.

Just skimmed the PDF. It is pretty good, covers alot of bases but I find it is only relevant for the Porn addict that is “Hiding in plain sight”. A normal person that just wants to get rid of it.

Page 61.
There’s no substitute for porn.
Internet porn creates the void; it doesn’t fill it.

I don’t think this is honest. Quitting porn will only lead the person to replace the habit with an equally useless one. Look at all the NoSurf, NoGaming etc groups.

I won’t argue against curing porn addiction. I have been basically noPMO for about 3 weeks. All it is this Q module,

https://q.subliminalclub.com/product/growth-through-pain/

I would recommend everyone battling this addiction to check out porn free radio podcast. It’s excellent. It teaches you how to come up with a plan, how to identify triggers, how to give yourself self care etc and much more.
One thing the host Matt said was “ Porn is a way we take care of ourself “
Which is incredibly true. Fapping is a way we deal with life events, stress, emotions, boredom etc It’s a negative outlet we use to tend to our needs.
If it’s okay with saint and fire I would post the link to the podcast here if it’s okay

Sexual Kung fu on YouTube has a really good channel that’s all about sexual transmutation and semen retention. It might be a channel to check out

Not understanding the distinction being made and how this was concluded. Porn is so normalized and accepted, isn’t everyone hiding in plain sight? Not sure what difference that makes. On the outside I seemed like a normal dude, but man, my tastes were so warped. This effected everything about my life essentially.

Quitting porn will definitely not only lead to new useless habits. That is just silly. Some people sure, but definitely not everyone. You can absolutely find many beneficial practices to fill in that void of time where you were previously wanking. Meditate, read a book, work out, socialize, train in a combat sport, do stand-up, brainstorm and work on your business ideas, get on your goddamn mission. This isn’t a matter of ‘ok, either I jack off or I play video games all night.’ I reckon those who replace these addictions with other addictions do so because they frame their addictions in the wrong way. Like they are being withdrawn and deprived of some necessity they can’t live without. That’s all BS. This is the point of the book.
The point of the handbook is to completely reframe how you view porn to make quitting a no-brainer. You are also supposed to read it word for word without skipping or skimming. That’s how it’s set up and structured. I’d like someone to give it a proper full go and then report back.

I’m not claiming a 100% success rate but if done correctly this will probably help anyone out. The time commitment is neglible and this will help free up a potential module space for one’s custom. This is a nice alternative.

Good points. Porn is nasty in that it hijacks our innate primal and survival instincts for sex and exploits it. Porn helps the user cope. Except that it backfires and also becomes part of the reason why people want to cope. It fucks up our perception of sexuality, masculinity, and ourselves. There are no benefits to porn. It is not just useless, it is harmful.

I am pretty passionate about this because porn addiction fucked me up as a kid. You can say that porn usage was a symptom of underlying root causes, but I can tell you that porn usage was exacerbating and making any root causes much worse every time I looked at it. Digging myself deeper in a hole of insecurity and a false view of what masculinity means. No one would suspect anything was wrong. Hell, I didn’t even know until I put two and two together a few years ago. Feel sad and anxious -> hmm, maybe it’s cause I just jerked off two times in a row -> stop for a couple days -> wtf, I feel like working out and talking to my parents now? Not everyone is as affected by porn as me, but still.

FYI: Appreciate the links. Have you been practicing semen retention/sexual transmutation yourself?

That’s pretty debatable. Sure one can get rid of it without a specific module but don’t underestimate it. It is in the Q store for a reason.

I been on nofap and been taking recovery very seriously. I had this issue going on a decade now. I’ve done 12 step groups, read books, listened to podcasts etc you name it. On and off again relapses and streaks.
In my journal I broke it down to 4 main reasons why I fap.

  1. I don’t know how to deal with my emotions in a healthy way. I fap to deal with my emotions.

  2. When I feel lonely, or want connection or intimacy or physical touch I go to pmo or asmr vids as a substitute for connection and intimacy

3 .Sometimes Being triggered by seeing a thumbnail, picture, or half naked girl makes my beast brain go crazy

  1. Repressing my sexuality leads to my sexual energy leaking into negative outlets like fapping

I didn’t list it here But under each of those 4 in my notebook I wrote healthy outlets I need to do to tend to those needs.
your speaking facts man, wasting our life force energy through fapping to porn or pics of girls on social media makes us less of a man. It prevents us from being the best man we can possibly be. I haven’t lived up to my potential so far in my life and one big factor is because of my fappage throughout my 20s.
As for the sexual transmutation I use it to help me with my sexual repression. I grew up sexually repressed and still repress my sexuality but I’m working on allowing it to be. I’m allowing my sexual energy to express itself without shame. One thing primal really helped me open up my sexuality. It helped me become sexually free it actually kind of helped with my Nofap because sexual repression was one of my 4 big reasons why i fap.
But for my sexual transmutation I sing and dance in my room. As a kid I use to do this ALOT especially in front of family. When running primal not to long ago it made me want to start dancing again. I would off and on again sing but I stopped dancing for a long time. I plan on getting some drums in the near future that will be another outlet for me to channel my sexual energy

Yea, I find that wording seems to trivialize the problem at hand. There are certainly some people who will be able to quit the very first time—maybe it was trivial for them. In addition, it is possible to read through the guide shared in this thread, follow its steps and quit right away. If that works, great! However, can it be doubted that many struggle to quit the practice and that a subliminal would be extremely effective in combating the practice? Especially if the problem has persisted for years?

Not to mention, there’s other modules that could go under a similar reasoning. For me, Exercise Motivation is a module that I wouldn’t want to use in my custom, however I guess it exists because it’s hard for some people to be motivated for it. Repeat for various focused mental-state type modules.

I Read through the first chapter. Some gems I liked and will research. I consider these truth (From my brief reading). It does show the author has the right idea. I plan on finishing the text eventually.

In fact, there’s no need to reduce your consumption while reading.

hypofrontality and desensitisation

“It’s a feeling of release!” Release from the stresses of real life? Porn won’t remove the source of the
stress, but it does add to it.

Take this instruction seriously: Attempting to quit early will not benefit you.

DeltaFosB

non-addicts, most women, older guys and people living in
countries where high-speed internet porn is unavailable aren’t missing out on anything and find the
situation laughable.

As said previously the actual porn addiction isn’t the main problem, simply acting as a catalyst in keeping
our minds confused over the real problem – brainwashing.

This book has some major issues though, please do not consider this a critique of noPMO. It reminds me of psychic readings.

I will just drop it here without me analyzing it.

-Contradictions

let me assure you
that your apprehension and panic isn’t relieved by porn—it’s caused by porn

Why do you have to have porn, with panic setting in if you don’t?

An otherwise intelligent and rational
human being spends their days in contempt

. In fact, most users have extended periods during which they
abstain without effort. The neurological little monster is easy to cope with even when you’re still addicted.

Prolonged, this feeling
becomes nervousness, insecurity, agitation, low confidence and irritability. It’s like hunger, for a poison.

It’s when you’re not consuming it that you sufer the empty feeling.

As intelligent human beings, we’d
understand why half the adult population was systematically addicted to something cutting down their
very potential to perform what they’re viewing.

As soon as we stop, we have more stress due to withdrawal pangs with the method
we relied on to remove that stress removed.

In this cycle you crossed the ’red line’ and triggered emotions such as guilt, disgust, embarrassment,
anxiety and fear, which in turn raise dopamine levels even higher and cause the brain to misinterpret
these feelings as sexual arousal.

The actual withdrawal pangs
are so mild that most users have lived and died without realising they’ve sufered them.

The actual pangs of withdrawal from porn are so subtle that most users have lived and died without
realising they’re drug addicts.

perhaps the most pathetic aspect is the sense of enjoyment a user
gets from a session, trying to get back to the sense of peace, tranquility and confidence their body had
before becoming hooked in the first place.

  • myopic

Internet porn is the most subtle, sinister trap man and nature have combined to devise; it’s the only trap
in nature whose setup doesn’t require hard work.

We talk about internet porn being relaxing or satisfying, but how can you be satisfied unless you were
dissatisfied in the first place? A non-user doesn’t sufer from this unsatisfied state,

  • Other addictions

Eating doesn’t create hunger

Like hunger, there’s no physical pain

You eat to survive and to energise your life, whereas porn dims and cuts down your mojo.

-personal

did you ever make the ’positive’ decision that you must/need porn to masturbate?

The thrill is in the hunting, not the killing, and dopamine rapidly leaves the body
after orgasm, explaining why users want to ’edge’ (delaying orgasm) through flicking between multiple
browser windows and tabs

Not everything has an addictive origin. That is why I concede the point that this text is for problems caused by a specific addiction.

I don’t want to get contrarian and philosophical, so I will just say you are correct here. This path is obviously a good “cope”, as coined by the author, But only a cope.

It can be used as a effective way to fix the problem. However, it depends mainly on everyone’s priorities and personal demons, like you just said.

These are my two cents here, but in my opinion a subliminal in question can tackle the problem better. Instead of relying alone on willpower, the scripting will also clean you up of the addiction in a more efficient way and in long term. Of course, you also have to do the work. (Not visiting those sites, etc)
It’s another powerful method.

It was not trivial at all and took multiple times for me over the years. I am not trivializing porn. Read my posts. Yes, there are Q module. I never ever doubted the effectiveness of a Q module. Not sure where you got that from. I am simply providing another method to accomplish the goal of quitting porn. One that will not require using a specific module. Instead of choosing StopPMOQ, maybe now you can add can add Blue Skies, SuperBigMusclesQ, etc. Surely we can all see the utility in that? If one can’t be bothered, then sure, use the modules. I’m not saying it’s the only way. But why not at least give it a go. Knowledge and books can be powerful and make lasting changes as well! I had a heavy deep rooted nasty porn addiction, and this handbook helped me out. Nothing trivial about my addiction. It was bad. I was addicted to some… stuff. I remember skipping classes to go home and PMO. Don’t want to give TMI but it was way worse than that tbh.

Yea, this is my point. Sure, you can do this, but if there was method which has allegedly given many people across the world the motivation to exercise effortlessly after a full read, you wouldn’t want to try it out? I’d rather do that than add Exercise Motivation and take up space in a custom. I’d rather choose Blue Skies, Ares, or one of those cool DNA Modulation, Berserker, or Manifestation result enhancers if I could take care of my other issues with other methods. Maybe a sub ends up being the better path for an individual, but you won’t know if the other resource works if we just write it off and claim it can’t help the heavy cases. If that resonates, awesome. If not, that’s fine too. I want this resource to help people.

Actually the handbook advocates against the willpower method itself. A sub would tackle the issues very effectively. I think both ways essentially reframe how you view porn. But personally, I’d rather read this handbook and then use I AM, ARES, or some other healing module for a complete overhaul of any root issues. But we are all different. I just want to help those who fall into the same line of thinking that I had.
