A cool one from some years ago is Sense8 on Netflix. It started out as a very ambitious, profound, and original concept. The first season is really mind-blowing. Second season’s a bit weaker in my opinion.
That was back when every other show on Netflix seemed to be cutting-edge.

Yep,that one was good.The only other thing i liked from the Wachowskis other than matrix.Though 2nd and 3rd matrix werent as good.not sure about the 4th coming

Yes, I really thought they should have stopped after The Matrix. It’s hard to walk the line between Myth/Allegory and Plot-based Drama. I thought the Matrix stood best as a kind of 70% Myth (of the Messiah archetype and a bunch of other cool-ass archetypes and world-building). The second and third instalments went in a different direction. Not so satisfying on the level of mythic meaning.
When my mind’s just been blown by seeing a God or Goddess, I don’t really want the follow-up of finding out what their favorite flavor of donut happens to be.
[Back when I learned that there were Matrix sequels coming, I asked myself, “The protagonist already transcended all limitations, where else is there to go?” And what I thought would be a really cool concept, and in my limited mind the only possible direction, was for the awakening process that he had gone through to begin to spread to others in some way that fundamentally transformed the world. Transcending the cliched duality of protagonist vs. antagonist. But that was definitely not what they chose. haha.]

Haha,yeah.The original matrix was a good balance.2nd and 3rd screwed up the awesomeness a bit and virus agent smith didnt help along with too much focus on action.At least they didnt go the way of the game which was the directors original plan where smith becomes a giant smith and has a great battle.Ending with neo winning.The messiah ending was still better

Weird. The original vision was so inspired. It’s always a bit mysterious and intriguing to follow a creator’s decisions. I know how hard it is to create though, so I’m usually satisfied to be glad for whatever parts I like, and just hope that the creators will keep on bringing amazing visions into the world.
But for me the real magic of the first movie was Neo’s process of mastering his mind, transcending his limitations, and then mastering the world. For me it was a perfect Buddhist allegory.
After awakening, the Buddha doesn’t become a superhero and go out to “fight bad guys”. At that point, the Buddha disappears and becomes the focal point of the world’s awakening. The good guy/bad guy dichotomy gets transcended. Now you finally have someone who has the ultimate power that dwarfs all others: the power to transform an enemy into a friend; to take in the world’s poison, transmute it, and release it as life-giving nectar.
Meh, it’s easy to write a premise though. Execution is a different story (pun intended).
P.S. Oh, I constantly think of that movie as I’m working with programs here. hahaha. Did you?

haha,yeah.matrix is definitely pretty reminiscent to subs.Would be cool if we get subs up to the plug in download level at some point.I would have liked if they continued the saviour/awakener of the world part rather than him being a chosen one that always repeats the same sequence though.Spoilt the story a bit for me.The wachowskis cameo in the game was cool though,lol.First 2 minutes of this video

haha. I have zero dogs in this fight. They disappointed me so much in parts 2 and 3.
Might actually be the perfect strategy. I’m ready for basically anything. On the negative side, I’m basically indifferent.
I had more excitement about the upcoming version of DUNE with Timothy Chalamet, Jason Momoa, and I think Zendaya. (directed by Denis Villeneuve). We’ll see.
I’m usually disappointed by movies. hahahahaha. But every so often one comes and just smacks me in the head with wonder and awe.
I think the Hollywood approach of movie-making by committee leads to some really compromised and mediocre products.
Thanks for sharing the video. I’d never even heard of that video game. Nor that premise of a crazily leveled-up Smith. Going to check it out now.
I remember how exciting it was when the Animatrix came out. That was really cool. Oh, and reminds me of two other series recommendations.

That game was amazing for its time cause you could play as neo.You could also change some stuff that happened in the movies like you could escape the building successfully that neo got caught in matrix etc.Pity they didnt have game tech like now or it would have been an out of this world rendition of the matrix,lol Enter the matrix was also a cool game because it ran concurrently with the movies so you could get another viewpoint of some stuff in the movies.They were actually pretty smart splitting it into anime,games etc to get the full story

Ive seen both.I like them though not my all time favorites anime wise though.Cowboy bebop has a bit of a cult following though

Been re-watching “The Vampire Diaries” with my brother. Say what you will, it’s a great show and Damon is a good sigma role model imo. On another forum someone suggested it to me. If you’re on this
