RUBICON
First 2-3 episodes meander directionless and the finale ends on a cheap cop-out cliffhanger (cancelled after it), but in between: Some of the finest conspiracy storytelling (comparable to Last Days of the Condor, 70s cold war spy thrillers) and absolutely fantastic acting.
I was not prepared for the amount of cringe I experienced in this show. I can’t even binge it. I’m like “I really like this show, but I don’t know if I can handle another episode” lol.
Binging it probably causes bodily harm.
Never cringed so bad. (And I really like Ricky Gervais and The Thick of It.)
It’s not out yet right?
Non. B² will be released 9/6/24.
Came here to say “watch Shogun” because it’s really well done, but it’s already been shared…
If you like samurai films, the Art of War, and 48 Laws of Power, you’ll probably like it.
The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi (2003)
NOTE: There is also an older set of 25 films made between 1962 and 1973 about Zatoichi. I haven’t watched the older one yet but hear it’s pretty good too.
