300/300
So, when do you think you will go to QL ST4? Are you going to run any customs with QL?
In about 9 more days. Am actually planning on replacing Stark with a custom I ordered after Ultima testing. I just didn’t want to change my stack in the middle of a stage.
I learned a few lessons from the module pack waiting:
QL ST3 DAY52
Was really pissed off early this morning. Maybe because watching my kids while they attend class is really taking me away from focusing on my work. Was almost lashing out at my wife and kids because of this.
Got so fed up, I decided to get Sanguine Ultima. Call it impulse buying. But I really thank @Fire and @SaintSovereign for this one. An hour after playing it, boom! I feel like everything’s going to be fine. I’ll probably be playing this as soon as I wake up during school days. That way, I could keep watching over the kids without any worries of my projects. Then around lunch, I’d shift to BLU and my regular stack. That way, by the time “school” ends, I’d be ready to go back to work.
I both agree and disagree on this one. Yes time isn’t a renewable resource. But for some, sometimes money is better spent elsewhere (bills to pay, mouths to feed, etc). So you really have to think it through and be absolutely sure this is what you want.
Yes. But not just each revision of the modules, but also each new module. Going back to the first point, we also don’t want buyer’s remorse especially for those whose resources are more limited than others.
That is true, although I did not foresee balancing necessities—I assumed that those are already out of the way. It would be like deciding between investing in the stock market and paying bills.
Not only balancing necessities, but also knowing and balancing your priorities. I mean, if you can forgo paying the bills, or the due isn’t any time soon, and you have a sure winner in the stock market (aka, inside info), then go buy those stocks. Then as soon as you have more than enough, cash out and pay the bills.
I’ve always loved the idea of putting in, say, $1K to buy good stocks…and when they go up in price, you can sell shares to get your original $1K back out…so the money left in there, it’s like you’re playing with someone else’s money.
That’s the thing. Nowadays, it’s very difficult to determine what stock is “good”. Especially with all the economic uncertainty, stock trading is becoming more of a risk, if you ask me.
It’s only really risky if you’re trying to buy low and sell high. Because then you’re looking at it as either a short- or long-term transactional thing.
The way Warren Buffett “picks stocks” is he goes into it with the (correct) mindset that you’re actually undertaking ownership in a company. So he ONLY buys shares in companies he would feel comfortable buying the entire company outright if the price was right.
He buys and very seldom sells because he’s got a VERY long-term view on the whole thing.
And I agree with you on that. Invest for the sake of taking ownership (whether full or partial). But then the question here is that how can an average person nowadays invest when the economy itself is uncertain? Even if you look long term, how certain are you that company X will ride out this rocky wave?
Even if said company will be able to “ride this out”, how about the average person? Can that person invest 1K when he’s not sure if he’ll still have a job tomorrow? Or when he has bills to pay?
Now don’t get me wrong. I hope that I too will have enough capital to be able to invest. But until then, I’d rather use what I have to first pay off the bills.
QL ST3 DAY53
Started the day with SanguineU. And honestly, I didn’t feel as hot headed as before. Was even calm actually. Even when I knew my kid wasn’t listening to the teacher.
Also about a month ago, I wrote:
So this afternoon, I finished another 100 page report and sent it in for their review. Here’s to hoping I get their Advanced Certification.
Now that the report was sent, I feel that I’m a bit free now to work on my office project. Have some ideas I’m actually planning on implementing there. Somehow, I feel like both QL and BLU have helped me in multi-thinking (it’s like multitasking, but instead of doing or working on multiple things, I’ve been coming with a lot of ideas for different things). And with Mogul and StarkQ, somehow I feel like I’ve got a drive to work on those things one at a time.
I’m actually very interested in understanding how Warren Buffet picks his stocks at this point of time. Stock values are low, but it’s very very difficult to forecast future cash-flow. He has to be very very optimistic about certain situations.
Maybe HoM might help with that?
Well he does have money to burn.
QL ST3 DAY54
Can’t really say much about today. Had a morning meeting, so as soon as I woke up I played BLU. BIG MISTAKE. Given that “school” starts an hour and a half earlier than my meeting, I had to watch over the kids’ online classes for a little over an hour. Kids being kids and that I was feeling unproductive, I tended to be easily angry.
As soon as I logged on to my meeting, I played SanguineU, and that’s when I started to feel calmer. So I guess lesson learned. Whatever happens, start with Sanguine every day.
Because of my meetings, I ended up not really doing much office related work today. And I honestly feel bad about it. However, somehow, I also feel that I’m running on fumes now and need a much longer rest.
Time vs money. Which one is more valuable? Neither.
Ummm. Your point being? Care to clarify?
Money is a renewable source. Time isn’t renewable. Which one is more valuable? Neither. I just had this pop in my head while reading your posts. Thank you for sharing.
Hmm…
