This is awesome! How long have you been doing leather work for?
I started during Corona when I wasn’t allowed to go dancing every day. Spent quite a lot time researching the methods, watched dozens of hours of videos on how to do it. Then I got the tools some leather and made my first hat. And a few more hats, some bags in between, a few key fobs.
My last to projects were completely self designed: a book cover for my uncles hymnbook and now this bag.
It’s a bit more challenging than using bought patterns from professional designers/ leather artists, but it’s the only method to get something fitting for special purposes, like my electric chainsaw.
Are any of you creatives running Renaissance Man or Ultimate Artist?
I am running Renaissance Man at the moment and have run it quite a bit since it was originally released. Also bought Ultimate Artist when it was first released and have given it many listens.
I was running UA for a bit, but then had to focus on shifting my priorities. Always loved it as a title. I’m a music producer and despite my incredibly poor piano skills I’d find myself being able to instinctively know which chords to play in order to capture what I wanted. I find it’s really good at breaking down the mental barriers to letting expression flow for me.
Ever since I get to hold crayons into my hands, the walls become my canvas that’s the reason why my grandparents always put me into summer classes.
I join a few contest with Corel Draw, Photoshop got an award. Everything gets even interesting when I learn Illustrator, back then AI wasn’t yet evolved.
For now I only used Photoshop, Premiere for my forensic sideline business.
There are too much AI applied on art works, not much emotions I can see on them.
This is a hat I made especially for Ren’fairs Last summer. I had severe sunburn but wanted to go to my favorite fair, so I mixed two patterns to get a huge brim for my favorite base (a pork pie hat base, known eg from braking bad).
The huge brim is good against sun and rain.
Against the rain, I coated it with bees wax.
The leather skin I bought had on slit where the cow had a little injury, so I turned the flaw into a feature and now it’s right on the front.
Another nice feature is the wire in the brim, so I can freely form it. Be it flat, a tricorn (Captn Jack Sparrow), a cowboy hat or even an octagon.
And I lined it with some black velvet I had still lying around from another project.
so beautiful
: D hehe
the last one looks pretty cool ngl
I bought an iPad pro and Procreate back in December but I haven’t really been able to get into it.
I didn’t mean you with “go digital”, I talked to myself. I like your artworks as they are.
Beautiful work, especially the cat-fox-bird.
Also the cat is very nice.
Btw, did you slip in a selfi by accident?
@Matt
Thank you so much my German friend. Yes it was indeed not intended. There are no accidents in my life
Got this tiny key for work.
Threw it away once.
By accident.
Made a key fob.
Never again
