Hello fellow nerds,

I’m look for an speaker for a project I’m working on. What have you guys used for ultrasonic before?

Wired or Wireless?
2 Speakers or a single speaker?
Price range etc

You could get Mackie CR series. Good quality for cheap prize.

Go wired. Better audio quality, less hassle.

Yeah I think wired is better in general but trying find a decent speaker for testing right now.

So I’ve went with these.

After looking at forums/support tickets about ultrasonic subliminal etc - khz, Basic/Super Tweeters etc are the main things to target.

Edifier R1280T Active Bookshelf Speakers 2.0 - This is my final choice. I’ve ordered it.

(I might in the future build my own speakers.)

So far these speakers are fuckin amazing.

Going to buy a DAC for it.

Going to set up auto adjustment for the speakers. I might need to do some hotwiring for that to work.

This is another speaker I would recommend - Only reason why I didn’t buy it is because it was sold out. Checked today it’s in stock so I got fucked.

By far really good speakers. Better than my final choice (Made under the assumption, they weren’t restocking)

Cancelled and returned the speaker. I’ve bought the Edifier MR3.

This is such a massive improvement.

Side note - I’ve also noticed the max khz is completely different from what the website says. The latest manual says max is 18khz. So there’s that.

Moving from CSV to JSON for tracking system.

So in turn of switch it JSON.

I’ve made a GUI for it. So I don’t have to manually edit the JSON each time I’m switching Subs. I’ve updated the pi 5 to work as a NAS too. This has allowed me to drag and drop Subs into the location and it will accept those are part of the process.

Edit: Contacted Corsair support. I ran a heavy memory test to check RAMs. Seem two sticks are dead. They are within a warranty so I’ll prob get a replacement for the 128gb RAM.

Once this project starts up.(After hard rest of subliminal - going to take a month break from listening.)

This will allow me to select subliminal, sleep and forgot. It will allow me to spend more time doing stuff and not trying to remember if I listened or not.

(Excel spreadsheet is great and all but pain in the ass. If I could get the py to auto create JSON for the whole year, Splitting each cycle into separate JSON. I can just edit the next cycle via WEB GUI).

First test went well. Could be better.

I might allow it to send me JSON files or message via telegram etc to let me know it’s played and how much. I had to check in the morning if it did work.

Honestly,

This was a really fun project. It’s nice to have it done. Just waiting for the case to arrive for it.

Once it’s in the case, I’m going to develop other projects on it.

Going to add limiters on it. For cores, I’m going to set input requirement’s of excluding cores I’ve never used. Ie No AEON etc etc
