The Socratic Method of Questioning and Its Power in Conscious Guidance and Action

Hello guys, I have been into self-improvement for years now. I turned 22 this August. Life has been chaotic hell, even… and it comes with many lessons and teachings to uncover. I am grateful for who I am today.

Today, I want to share a significant tool that’s in line with the Zero Point nature. We keep hearing the term conscious guidance, right? Many have partially figured out what it means to consciously guide the subconscious, while many are still left with confusion and false assumptions.

A lot of members are deeply into the Law of Assumption or belief, like I was, and have been programmed to think that the only way to consciously guide a subliminal is through affirmations and visualization.

Today, I will share the Socratic method of self-improvement, which I’m sure many of you are aware of. We generally water down the importance of asking the right questions to ourselves. Socrates had a great mind he was a great philosopher and he gifted one of the best tools for self-improvement to all of humanity. I come from a Hindu background and follow rituals and sadhanas related to mantras, which genuinely help, but I still cannot thank Socrates enough for this wonderful gift.

Socrates, throughout his life, asked many questions—both to himself and to the people around him. Asking the right questions makes you think differently, and when you think differently, you take different actions, which lead to different outcomes.

Method:

Suppose you are listening to a subliminal like Limitless or Emperor. Despite the gigantic list of benefits the product offers, our eyes often get stuck on certain objectives that reflect our current life situation. Fulfilling these objectives can feel like finding a missing piece of the puzzle.

Step 1: Define clearly which objective you want the most from the subliminal. Have a crystal-clear goal.

Step 2: Take a diary or journal and write it down. Ask yourself the right questions.

Step 3: Ask: What actions or mental attributes can I develop to reach this objective?

Step 4: Identify where you are getting stuck. Suppose your mind says to do XYZ, but you feel afraid to take the steps—ask yourself, Why am I afraid or fearful? Keep questioning to get to the root. It will take time, and your answers will evolve as you grow. Spend at least 20–30 minutes on this every day.

Example:

If you don’t know which objective to take from the list:

  1. Ask yourself: Which objective from the subliminal will currently help me move toward the goal I desire?
  2. Suppose your mind answers with the objective: XXX.
  3. Now ask: Why do I want this objective so much?
  • Answer: Think deeply. Don’t just fill the diary come up with an answer that has real value.
  1. If your answer is: I want this because it will fasten my progress, question again until you clarify or have a clear understanding of why you truly want this objective.

Clear Example:

  • Goal: I want to go to my home, research this XYZ company, and invest in it.
  • Question: What is stopping me from doing this? Is it fear?
    • Keep uncovering—it will bring clarity.
  • Ask again: If it’s not fear, what is it? Laziness? Lethargy?
    • If yes, ask: What can I do to overcome it? How can I do it?
  • Keep thinking—the answer will come to you. Within a few days, you will notice your subconscious finding ways to express the specific part of the script to align with your objective.

This method both involves the conscious and subconscious mind and even if you affirm to some ideas you want it to be true then it’s a perfect exercise for you. You just need to direct the questions in such a way that the answer is the affirmation you desire to imprint on the subconscious self

Here are some examples of the questions which i generally ask myself and meditate on these.

How can I make coding and programming interesting and content for me ? Can I make coding and programming satisfying for me? If yes then how can i make it ?( i used this question to slowly develop interests towards programming concepts)

What is stopping me to change this habit of mine? why am i so attached to it ? what can i do overcome this endless hurdle ?

there are more but you get the gist

The answer might not always be instant but it makes your unconscious to engage in these questions and asking these questions repeatedly, your subconscious will flow your conscious self with ideas and these ideas will become concrete and hence helping you to change your action as a result of the whole process

I know I am not completely clear, but you have to try this, guys. It’s a better method of reprogramming than mindless affirmations which work as well but not as effectively, I guess. (your views on this @SaintSovereign )

I am a HUGE fan of the Socratic Method and I definitely like where you’re going with this. Let’s see what the community has to say before I opine more.

Works even better with the help of ChatGPT

I already do apply this in my subliminal usage, only I did not know that it originated with Socrates. Learning something new every day here.

If you can sit in a relaxed posture and just allow your entire awareness to be focused on your mental process you can also go much deeper into it.

Taking 15 to 30-minutes of active contemplation like this every day before sleep is very good for giving your subliminal results direction and conscious guidance.

Also during the day it would be good; pay some attention however to how your mind is during the cycle of sunrise until sunset, and how it is after sunset until sunrise and you may notice how the moon time is far more auspicious for drifting around in your mind with this kind of mental activity.

true. Introspection is the key to not only direction of subliminal but life itself.

glad to know you have been doing this already. i have found this late but i have convinced myself to go to the gym, workout at home, being comfortable in social places just using this method without any subliminal or so

In our age most have lost the ability to use their mind, people have a tik tok brain so just sitting down with themselves and playing around with the realm of thought and wandering or roaming around in their mind has become something that most people do not engage with.

People are constantly stimulated and their mental activity just flies in all directions uncontrollably. If you can take your thought process under your control you can really support your subliminal progress and guide it very much consciously. As you ponder you also interact with the subconscious mind directly and with the subliminal processes that are already active through your subliminal usage.

You engaging your mental process consciously like this over time can have a very positive impact!

i completely agree on this. i was living the life of virtual stimulation where the ability to take simple decisions made me procrastinate. This habit is not only confined to simple aspects of life but it also extends to the broader spectrum where people blindly choose to follow rituals or go under the influence of harmful habits because of lack of self introspection and the fear of asking the questions because the answer itself scare them. This world has now currently taken shelter under the phenomenon of escapism.
Subliminal industry in general(not subclub) has made this worse because for whatever problem it is, they try to take shelter under these tools and not taking actions themselves

If we change our lives and become empowered the people around us are also positively influenced so let’s focus on that!

I used to procrastinate with the socrates method, by just asking why am i not doing what i need to do?

I thought finding the root cause would give me some clarity but nothing really happened. I was just playing around in my mind, i never really got to doing.

Thank sub club, Emperor executive is there.
Now i just do, no more thinking

Hmm i can see where it stems from. Consciously using Socrates method takes time to get the subconscious to respond in a correct/favourable way

While visualising i used to have trouble in first person mode. Using the Socrates method- how can i solve this problem? How can i visualise in first person more smoothly?

I used to meditate on this and all, and after a week or so my mind automatically made inner adjustments to aid me in visualising

But i agree to take instant action, socrates is not the best

But to solve core traumas and the core issue of not taking action can be slowly solved using this method. But it should be like Meditation session or 15-20 mins at a time and not something you ask all the time. I hope this clears up how this method can help you get past the blocks that has been artificially placed by our own false assumptions

Edit :
One of the most common reason of why people keep switching subs because of less self introspection. When they switch subs they don’t do it with authenticity but just because of shiny object syndrom

Using Socrates method one can channel their subliminal journey and growth will be focused and channelised

If this happens, it could mean that the real reasons for why you are procrastinating are so traumatic and labeled as so painful by your subconscious mind, that it does everything it can to shield you from this.

If this is the case, then asking conscious questions and trying to find the reasons would be just like running around in circles, since the subconscious mind will use perception filter in order to continue to shield you from this pain.

A deeper hitting trauma healing title would be the answer here.
KHAN Black Stage 1, KHAN Total Breakdown, Love Bomb and new GLM come to my mind here.

Or:
You can convince your subconscious mind with a super strong intent that you are now ready to face all these surpressed emotions and feel them and release them. Then it might soften the shielding and allow your conscious mind to dive deeper into the real reasons.

Please note that this could be the reason, but does not necessarily has to be. Other reasons and explanations are possible too. Only you can know.
