The MALKUTH Catharsis (Malkuth Journal)

:+1:

I found out about them when I was in high school, and a friend introduced them to me. I think he had ā€œBlue Bell Knollā€. There was also a video compilation he had called ā€œLonely is an Eyesoreā€ that was released by the media label 4AD that had a few of their alternative bands, such as Clan of Xymox, and Dead Can Dance, as well as the Cocteau Twins.

ā€œGarlandsā€ was their first album, I think. Less ephemeral and much more grungy.

When people don’t know who the Cocteau Twins are, I tell them ā€œIt’s like Enya only a million times betterā€. When I was living in Columbus OH, there was a theater up the street from me that had concerts. One day, I saw an announcement on the theater sign that said the Cocteau Twins were coming. I didn’t go, and I regretted it, until that same friend told me that in concert they don’t sound so good because of their heavy use of reverb and pseudo-echoes.

Here’s one: a bit raw, slightly abrasive, yet ephemeral:

Just as we live on the surface of a planet that flies at 67000 mph and feel no movement at all, so also are we unaware of the tremendous amount of energy that goes into maintaining a somatically-focused center of consciousness.

It’s sort of a ā€˜telekinesis-oriented’ approach way of constructing a self-sense.

Whatever I can move with my mind must be part of me. It establishes a circle of intentionality.

When I conduct ā€˜movement intention’-impulses, my hand moves. When I do the same thing, my wallet doesn’t move. So, I’m my hand and I’m not my wallet. That kind of thing.

From the inside-looking-out, it seems completely obvious. From the outside-looking-in, things are a bit more cmoplicated.

There’s a certain stage of subliminal listening that I’m thinking of as the ā€˜Letting Go’ or ā€˜Release’ phase. It can have many different markers, but for me, one of them is that I have less tendency to review and mentally recite the names of the modules. That marker works for me because I like to recite them in the earlier listening stages. If someone does not have that practice then this marker would be meaningless for them.

But the Release phase, in my observation, signals a deeper absorption and integration of the subliminal. I think about its workings less, but I’m engaging with it more.

The roots are descending out of view.

I’m finding myself working with the above perceptions and perspectives.

Inviting evolution and development into my way of being.

Right now, it’s about combining and integrating contrasts.

For example, being solidly and stably grounded while also cultivating openness of mind and expansion of consciousness.

That is the foundation for working with and shifting reality. You need to be able to look past your current conditions and your current state of mind, but without going too far past the balance point and landing in delusion, dissociation, and disconnectedness.

Fighting the reality of your situation tends to create the exact problems you’re trying to eliminate.

That says Fighting The Reality.

Not fighting.

Not striving.

But fighting the reality. In other words, trying to make reality not real. That’s different from working to change reality.

Changing reality requires that we work with reality. We look for those malleable, changeable parts of the real situation. Those opportunities for shift, give, or negotiation. We try to work with those. That is already a fight. But it’s a fight based on getting more in touch with reality, not less.

That’s why Problems and Fails are not only problems and fails.

Every experience is another chance to get to understand reality just that little bit better.

And that can always be an investment towards Success.

Balance is a great challenge.

Life does not stay still.

Refer, once again, to exhibit A:

horse-bucking

The rider in that video has an excellent capacity for balance.

Balance is efficiency.

Finding the (often shifting) place that is neither too much nor too little, neither beyond, nor not-yet.

Nailing the target.

and then nailing it again…

and then nailing it again…

The abilities to attend and observe are powerful resources in the quest for balance

And anything that invites us to stop attending, to stop observing, to lose touch, is an enemy of balance and efficiency

I am very, very INFP.

The central organizing quest and challenge of my life has always been, ā€˜How can I be myself while surviving (or even thriving?) in the world?’

Personality is just a seating chart.

We’re all on the plane. It’s just a matter of which seats you hang out in the most.

So, the challenge that I described is something experienced by many (or even all) people, but it’s been emphasized or central for me. And it’s been a primary organizing reference point for my identity development.

You could almost say that Personality type indicates the aspects of the human condition in which you’ll be specializing.

One of the trickiest things is to observe your consciousness with balance

Consciousness is typically what we use to observe. And when we move to observe Consciousness, it can really feel like there’s just nothing there.

As you are looking out at the world, observe your own eye.

The eye cannot see itself. It can see a photographic reproduction or a reflected image. But it will never look directly on itself.

Yet, the strange part is this: that very not-seeing of itself is the strongest evidence for, and demonstration of, the existence of the eye.

The eye says:

I am so busy generating vision of everything else that I could never have the chance to see myself.

Yet all of these visions that I am generating are clear evidence that I am here; centrally and solidly here.

It is the same with consciousness.

I just got an excellent focusing tool from GPT-4o. We were conversing about some spiritual/consciousness ideas, and after hearing my point of view it recommended the following focusing statement:

"I recognize the limitations of my senses and mind. I open myself to the broader reality and the unseen forces that guide and support me."

:joy: Well, now we see what happens when you have The Revelation of Spirit and AI Whisperer in the same stack.

Meditation, for me, is not about grabbing control of everything through the world-dominating power of your supernatural calm and insight.

It’s about gradually increasing my capacity to face and to (attentionally) touch What-Is while simultaneously nurturing equanimity.

And then just doing that again and again and again…

5 days into my monthly 10-day washout.

Experienced some very light bliss and expansive mindstates. Woke up very early this morning, say 3:45. Meditated from 4:05 to 5:10 or something like that. The flows of my mind felt calmer and a bit more settled than they have recently been.
