The MALKUTH Catharsis (Malkuth Journal)

The eye is configured so as to attend to and register that which is before it. Eyes, in other words, see before themselves, not behind themselves. Eyes see outside of themselves, not within themselves.

This means that when that which is behind the eye undergoes great transformation, this may not be registered at all.

The irony here is that the most important parts of the eye lie behind and within, rather than before, it. When the eye itself is transforming, this process will be well nigh on invisible to the eye itself.

Here is good.

This does not mean that I’m going to stop Here.

It means that I’m going to enjoy and appreciate my passage through Here.

Open to the miracles that are here.

The miracle of Sensate Reality and Experience

The miracle of Self-sense

The miracle of narrative thought

Stop treating these as distractions.

Don’t be like the person who says, ‘Everybody shut up! Stop talking. I’m trying to investigate this new thing I read about called ‘Language’.’

I am a skeptic, a cynic, and an empiricist! And I will tolerate no nonsense talk about miracles, magick, or any other obviously ridiculous new-age foolishness in my presence! Now…Let us continue…

Haha, personally empiricism and logic ironically helps to keep a relatively open mind while amidst such skeptics.

Magic powers.

But I was just thinking, outside of this, is there anything that you want. Maybe sometimes ‘to be something’.

But that seems like about it.

When I say that I am motivated to apply phenomenological principles, perspectives, and practices, I do not primarily mean that I want to discuss ideas about phenomenology. I mean that I want to express and to deal with phenomenologically-informed ideas, and phenomenologically-constituted perspectives.

Not sitting at a computer writing essays about nature. But allowing nature to guide my ideas and to inspire and shape what I do write, express, and say.

The essence of this approach is that it’s primarily, centrally, and foundationally about CONTACT. Not distant objective observation. IN CONTACT-expression.

Tack against the winds to travel in your desired direction.

If the winds are not blowing in your exact desired direction, you can still use them. It just takes more work.

Use them.

(I am thinking of using the responsibilities, projects, and conditions associated with my current job to both clarify my desired direction and to help to carry me in that direction. The above metaphor arose naturally.)

To study and master any discipline or subject, one of the crucial areas is to Identify and RESPECT your gateways of entry into that discipline or subject.

This is key. That RESPECT is key.

Your gateways of entry to a topic are the places where your style of thinking, learning, and perceiving naturally intersect with that topic.

Your gateways may be different from someone else’s. They might tell you that your gateway to learning is ‘stupid’ or ‘incorrect’. This is fallacious. There is no such thing as a stupid gateway to learning. By virtue of being a gateway to knowledge it is already ‘Of Knowledge’.

So this is just one more area where you need to learn to defend yourself. In this case, we’re talking about intellectual and spiritual self-defense.

A gateway to knowledge cannot be ‘stupid’. Stupidity results when you do not use or do not sufficiently use your gateway to knowledge.

So a simplistic example:

Your gateway to knowledge may be drawing cartoons and illustrations. Your mathematics classmate may tell you that this is stupid, because he or she prefers the gateway of writing and memorizing abstract formulae.

If you give upon your gateway, then now you’ll appear to have proven that person right.

But you also need teachers and partners who can appreciate your gateway and help you to use it effectively.

Another example of gateways to knowledge is the ‘left brain’ ‘right brain’ divide. (It’s actually the same example.)
