Well that one, yeah lol.
I think Predator (1987) is a masterpiece and I thought Predators 2 (1990) and Predators (2010) were underrated. The Predator (2018) was terrible and Prey (2022) was great.

The original Alien (Sigourney)… loved it.
Original Predator (Arnold) loved that too.
I’d add the Thing, The good the bad and the ugly as some of my favorite classics.
Bad movies hmm… the recent Napoleon by Ridley Scott. I didn’t enjoy that.
As for series, Kaos was growing on me after some episodes.
I also enjoyed Only Murders in the Building and Shogun.
Can’t think of a series I outright disliked because an episode or two and I’m gone if it doesn’t pique my interest.
Maybe Decameron. Loss interest on that one.
Must watch series, Billions.
Series to skip and this may be controversial but Sons of Anarchy. It got worse and worse but I had to finish it since it became a train wreck that I couldn’t take my eyes off. Save yourself the time and skip it.
Movies I enjoyed recently are Peaceful Warrior, Everest, and the new Twisters.
Movie that blew my mind: Gifted
It’s on Netflix
Incredible. Sad and joyful and sweet all at once
Pacific Rim: So good!
Pacific Rim 2: So bad I blocked it from my mind. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah. It would be nice if Pacific Rim got a sequel.
Didn’t expect much, loved it!
Which is a shame. Good cast, great source material. But yeah, it was kinda off and weirdly unfunny.
Not “bad” (very effective actually) but better not to watch is A Serbian Film.
Somewhere between psychothriller, horror, splatter and nihilistic satire, the incredible bleak atmosphere of the film lingered for a week after watching.
I love transgressive horror films, but this one just transgressed into an emotional black hole.
If you liked that you will love Succession, even more intricate in relationships and power dynamics.
That’s the second time in 3 days that I’ve been recommended Succession, will add it to my que after I’m through with Industry. Just don’t have a lot of time for TV these days.
If you like football movies I’d recommend Greater and American Underdog.
If you like movies or TV shows I recommend Netflix or other streaming services.
This thread is meant to warn and rant about terrible movies and series.
We got an excellent threat for the great stuff here:
Changed the title of this thread.
Television itself, lol. If I turn the TV on, I’m putting on something that I already know is going to be mind-numbing, generally because my mind is overstimulated and I’m attempting to calm it down. Therefore, if it’s on, it’s streaming something ridiculous like Catfish, Pawn Stars or the such.
If I must throw something into the hat – Star Trek: Discovery. Starfleet officers running around crying more than the characters did in Attack on Titan.
Couldn’t agree more.
ST: Discovery had the laziest storytelling of all Treks. Instead of using conflict for a story, characters sitting down, talking like insecure teenagers and hug it out in every effing episode was so incredibly bad.
Selling the recurring bad writing as “the unique trait” is a pretty clumsy gaslighting attempt.
I read so many reviews saying it left them mentally unwell. I pretty much forgot it in two days. It reminded me of crank but with porn. It went so over the top I couldn’t take it seriously. Although it isn’t the worst film I ever watched I was left wondering why make something like this?
I read something about political criticism an commentary on de-humanisation, but it didn’t really make sense at the time.
Matrix Resurrections. That was a goddamn knife to my heart. I loved the Matrix series. What amazed me the most was how this thing was in theaters but it played out like a straight to Netflix movie or a bargain bin DVD movie you’d pickup in Walmart.
TERMINATOR: DARK FATE
A terminator chatting about how efficient he is when it comes to changing diapers was probably meant to be incredibly funny.
It is not.
Even worse than Zac Snyder’s Not STAR WARS but trying really hard to be it is Star Trek but trying really hard not to be it: Section 31.
Absolutely awful film.

Stranger Things 5 - Chapter 1.
I loved ST 1-4, the Spielberg vibes, Kate Bush and 80s nostalgia.
ST5 follows the new Hollywood formula of TV series written for people mostly glued to their phones and only occasionally looking at the big screen (several TV writers described these studio instructions): Tell, don’t show, no/less subplots, overall simplified plotlines, more KABOOM!, more bad puns and oneliners, less/no character development, important scenes implemented several times so the phone watcher can at least catch them once.
Utter, utter shite. (Same thing made the new Doctor WHO unwatchable.)
