Season 2: NFTW (which one are you?) [11.11.23]

Literally, how I feel every time hype is created around a title I want. The frustration. The anticipation.

Doomed to fail, since he forgot the most important of them all: Humppa!

I just noticed that the first comment on this thread (by our friend Malkuth of course) got the NFTW acronym correct :raised_hands:.

I’ve been appreciating this breakdown from @anon22724507 .

Never Fear The Weakness in myself.

That is good.

I started to rap 2-3 days ago. It’s just a hobby for now, but I work on honing my craft. Have put two tracks on tik tok just for fun.

Was beatmaking, doing remixes 15 years ago and credited on a couple of mixtapes/album in my country, mostly ā€œurbanā€ music. Had to choose between that and my career so choose real work  Didnt released anything by myself back then. Got back as a bedroom producer a year ago, and it takes times getting a hang of the new tools and the new music genres. Released one song on Spotify just to understand the business process behind it (won’t share because its not really good )

It’s something I’ve defientley always wanted to get into, perhaps after I reach my financial goals and have more freedom to pursue it as a passion. I talked to a prospect yesterday who is a traveling/performing DJ, puts on consciousness festivals, teaches meditation, teaches music to kids while introducing them to flow states for faster skill retention and creativity, etc. Pretty much sounded like my dream life lol.

I’m just thinking out loud here. But this is something that’s always been difficult for me to reconcile with. Why can’t we just start with freedom and pursue what we want? It seems like such a detour in life and it irritates me that we have to get finances in order or escape some grind just to then pursue what we want. It seems like the biggest con in life.

Speaking personally, i’m an adult, and I have responsibilities to take care of before I earn the freedom to go and just pursue my passion, and personally I would feel like I’m neglecting my development, my future, and my family if I was to decide ā€œoh I just want to go pursue music all day and try and make itā€ because I’m not happy, seems selfish to me. Again this is just my personal outlook, if your younger, you don’t have responsibilities, family, or people that depend on you, then I think go for it.

Good point. I’m not saying be a deadbeat irresponsible person. But it’s a fine line because sometimes that ā€œone day when everything is squared awayā€ never comes. Maybe it’s just me, I find it’s too easy to have life get away from me sometimes.

Totally. I really like the Tim Ferris approach to entrepernership/passions. Basically become a hobbyist. Part time, weekends and evenings, until you can make it your full time financially.

Made me think of my favorite german spiritual artist, SEOM. He worked on his music for over ten years, worked shitty jobs to pay his bills, and suddenly he made it. Now he lives a similar lifestyle like the guy you described. Financially free and a happy family.
He pursued his dreams with all his power until he made it. But he started very young.

I just commented about this in the thread for Emperor Black

ā€œI can’t see the title of this without thinking of either the band Amon Amarth or Bathoryā€

Uhh… how does this relate to NSE update

So does Daredevil have scripting to turn one from a smuggledoo into the titillating life of the party?

Joking.

Came across the song on YouTube a few minutes ago, good vibes in it.
