Recon vs Overexposure
How can you tell the difference?
Recon is good isn’t it? but overexposure isn’t? but they seem to have similar symptoms.
If its overexposure you have to reduce but if it’s recon it’s good to continue.
With zpv2, overload is easy to perceive.
Sleepiness is sign of overload.
Recon - the emotions like anger, fear, shame, boredom.
With ZP Recon and overexposure both can be treated quite effectively by reducing exposure so the two issues end up confused. Overexposure is quite distinct on ZP and once you feel it you won’t confuse it for recon anymore. I’ve not run into it with V2 though, but I’ve also been really tame in my usage for a while now.
Whats the distinction?
Recon can be a very broad swathe of reactions, from emotional to physical to mental loops we put ourselves through. Overexposure very distinctly has a physical component of mental exhaustion paired with an energetic exhaustion that is experienced relatively uniquely by each individual. Higher levels of overexposure can cause acute symptoms of a wider variety tho, but it should be pretty obvious if you’re exposing yourself too much to this point… (I mean overexposure should always be considered the culprit if your progress is stopping/slowing and you are exceeding the current guidelines)
Good points @mountainguy
Recon is very broad and can refer to all kinds of things.
In contrast, overexposure is one of the factors that can cause challenging recon.
This goes back to the original question:
Let’s add “Intensity” into this Recon conversation.
The following description frames it more accurately:
“When reconciliation effects are extremely intense (due, for example, to overexposure) then it is a good idea to ease off and take some rest before listening again. In contrast, when recon effects are gentler, then listening some more may help your system to better adapt to the subliminal, thereby resolving (or completing) the recon.”
If you think of your journey with the sub as a trip in a boat, then “Recon” is any movement of that boat.
If you’re zipping smoothly through the water from one point to another: that is recon (our favorite kind of recon).
If the boat is dipping up and down in the waves, that is recon (a somewhat challenging but expected part of sailing. We may need more power from the oars, the engine, or the wind to compensate for the inefficiency of that bobbing movement.)
If the boat has a leak or starts taking on water and sinking in the water. That is recon and we’d better start bailing out that water or things may get ugly.
If the boat capsizes, that is also recon. Your progress on your journey is stalled. Now you’d better get your boat flipped back over and bail out the water so you can get back to making progress.
All of those movements are Recon. Some are pleasant and desirable. Some are inconvenient. Some are disastrous. The differences in the kinds of reconciliation depend on the factors that cause it and on the way the system responds to those factors.
This conversation has me thinking that maybe it is time to do more organized testing on microloops. I had written up a post that got into my use of microloops as another mechanism of conscious guidance, but it is all anecdata without proper testing.
Do you have a link to that post?
“Anecdata”
I like that.
@Dark I decided against posting what I had written up because I was dubious of its helpfulness without the context of more people trying similar experiments.
I think that with such a post people would be able to toss in their observations from their private testing. Worse case scenario it would get a conversation going on the topic.
Overexposure for me is mostly cognitive decline. Bumping into things, dropping words from sentences, doing odd stuff (putting a fork in the refrigerator). It’s like if you’ve ever pulled an all nighter and you’re loopy the next day. Consequently this cognitive decline effects executive function. One of the parts of executive function is emotional regulation so recon can feel even worse due to the lack of ability to regulate.
Overexposure for me is extreme tiredness and sleepiness. Even falling asleep in the middle of the day.
I think it deserves its own thread and I just haven’t taken the time to write one up.
So Ive been feeling really unmotivated to work out and to do stuff in general. Not tired and not angry or emotional. Would you guys think this is recon or overexposure?
Overexposure. Take a few days off the sub.
