Problem solving skills have been through the roof. Thats the one good thing so far I’ve noticed thats been subtle but noticeable. The other day I had parked somewhere and got pretty much boxed in by cars in the drive through lane, where I went to buy food. In the past, I would’ve waited, and waited, gotten pissed off but that day there was no waiting time that would justify it, so I got an idea in my head and for whatever reason I was able to strategically maneuver my car out of the boxed in space.
There have been other instances at work where I’ve come up with strategies to better help my coworkers doing their jobs better.
Then also while I was getting food the other day, I had an old lady try to talk to me and soon after, a woman with her baby, who is married and her husband was a few feet ahead, literally, came and stood next to me. At first it wasn’t obvious but then I realized that she had been sitting in the back of the restaurant then decided to come stand close to me, shoulder to shoulder about a few inches away. Like hovering. Odd thing is that there was more than enough space for her to stand and the fact that she was standing away from her husband was odd.
Thats when I realized something, women are always assessing social situations. If you’re in a place full of strangers and a woman talks to you randomly, all the other women notice instantly and you immediately become someone of interest to them. For whatever reason, it’s like a safety signal, I’m guessing, that lets the other women know subconsciously, like yea ladies, he’s okay. That was probably my first obvious direct approach in a while, not counting work.
