Texas has some of the most polite people I’ve ever met. I’ve never been treated with so much respect and hospitality so it could also depend on where in America you go to.

One of the main reasons I didn’t go the traditional education route is because it’s not like it used to be. Now it’s more focused on teaching you western values then the actual education your supposed to be studying for.
Won’t go further on this as people are going to get triggered if I do but most people who hear “western values” know what I mean and what I was trying to say.

It’s way better than I thought and honestly I can tell why most of the world mocks them, it’s got a tinge of jealousy
Actual freedom: literally do whatever you want say what you want and sell what you want
Vibrant life: if you stop kicking the culture for a second you’ll realize that the country likes to move; consume, why see it as bad when you can see it as good?
Easy travel and abundant land
Literally ever race and personality type and background all in one melting pot, what’s not to love ?
That’s just me and I made fun of America my whole life out of meme just because everyone did it.
I have never heard an American bring up Europe just to mock it, and that says a lot, but I’ve heard a ton of European tourists IN America mocking it
And it’s pretty much 95% chance you’re hearing any European outside of America bring it up to insult it here and there.

It’s selv-evident that modest clothing is a given, but need tourist women wear more?
And do you know, why there are not that much muslim countries on the visa-list? Is there a special agreement that they don’t need any? Or is it because of political / religious reasons?

Don’t generalize. Before I visit another country, I spend an incredible amount of time learning about the customs and culture just so I can ask genuine questions and have genuine experiences there. Same with @Fire, whose passport has so many stamps that he literally uses it as a flex when dating, lol.

Also, have you ever been to Manhattan? I grew up having to say “sir” and “ma’am,” along with please and thank you, and the first time I went to Manhattan, people thought I was an alien because I was acting so polite.

There’s all kinds of flavors in America. I have friends here of almost every nationality and religion and the variety of food from around the world is also vast here. I am grateful my ancestors chose this country to flee to from religious persecution a century ago…

I live in Florida, and I went to Vermont for a few summers while in college. Me saying “yes ma’am” and “yes sir” made me stick out easily, even in dairy country where cows outnumber people.

I’d just like to point out that state funded or free healthcare system isn’t actually free. It’s paid from tax payers money.
I’m not talking about if it’s good or not. Just that it actually isn’t free.
Same with all the services that the state funds. Not free.
Edit: Not saying @EsctasyOfGold said that it is free. Just pointing it out generally.

I still do not understand what is the exact problem in Canada rn? Like you said past 4-5 years it went downhill, but what exactly? I am just curious because I have always had a perception that Canada is a great country and in many ways better than the US, for instance, in healthcare, not carrying a gun, racism, etc.
I enjoy the companionship of American people in general, at least the one I know 
What I hate the most in the US is the huge amount of weapons with so many killings, massacres in schools etc. totally crazy ! each time there is one massacre, the President will say : " Never again, we need to reinforce the law against weapons ! " few seconds later you have the politicians and the lobby NRA who will say : " No it is the opposite, we need more weapons !" It is pathetic ! each time i go on a university campus in the US i will see students killed. Last year, there was a rivalry between 2 frats, at the end 3 dead and 1 wounded !
France and the US have love/hate relationships 
But I think the Americans appreciate the French cuisine, the wines and our luxury items

Fellow German here. Country and media is very free (former high-ranking journalist) and I know plenty of racists (though to their defense: Germany has so little diversity that many just have zero experience with non-white, non-Christian people that it might be more out of ignorance than ill will for many.)

You’re right, the money has to come from somewhere.
It’s just crazy that the UK has similarish total tax levels to certain states in the USA while getting certain benefits that people in these states don’t.

It’s the education system that’s gone downhill not the country.
Everything said and done there is no amount you could pay me to live in the USA. “No tax” isn’t even enough of an incentive. For all the reasons you mentioned, aka no health care, gun laws, and just the general extremity of the US, I wouldn’t ever want to live there.
The craziest thing to me about the US is the media and how brainwashed everyone is in the US by their media. Either left wing right wing or even just non political media… everyone is spewing other opinions no one has any thoughts of their own - the US is media obsessed, and the media is obsessed with thought control.
It’s so strong that, since we receive US tv, even Canadians care more about American politics than Canadian.
I literally have to be full time “News Sober” just to step away from it all and not feel crazy all the time
