The most effective method could be a Google Drive spreadsheet for the moderation team, that’s available to the public and has read-only access for the public. The thread with the link to the Google Docs can be pinned and available for everyone on the forum to view, and no one except the company can edit. This is just my experience with community management speaking, however with a corporate entity with formal legal protocol and strategic competitive plans, I don’t know if that would work. Just my two cents. Data mining shouldn’t really be a concern as it can always be done with publicly available data anyways (e.g. right here). Also isn’t there a unique identifier for username changes within the database code for the forum software. A developer should be able to compile that into a spreadsheet for the moderation team to catch up with name changes? @AnswerGroup @RVconsultant
I’ve been here quite a while… since 2019 or so? wow. But I mostly lurk… and I see fewer and fewer familiar names, not only because of new members joining, but because I often have no idea who is who anymore, even for people I’ve “known” here for years now.
I have a programmatic solution to propose… including plugin code to test on a staging site if interested. Who can/should I send it to for consideration?
Habits are better than reminders.
Systems are better than habits.
…so I made a system.
I updated my profile already, just couldn’t remember my first username.
What if you have a second account?
Goldfinger was:
black_box
AND what other names?
Now you know.
WOW! That was kind, generous, and pro-active of you! Thank you!
I would encourage you to contact the only two members of the Royal House of Subliminal Club.
You mean, people get to decide which half of their genitals get tazed?
(Okay, I get it.)
For not changing your name, I think:
Perhaps notice them about @BLACKICE message. Might not get noticed with the amount of messages they get.
Pretty sure you’re only supposed to have one, per TOS
Did you message them via the form with a PM, or was it a support ticket?
Ahh… forum PM, should that have been a ticket? You said contact, rather than ticket, so…
Here’s a picture of me trying to remember my previous names:
I think I might help.
Cleopatra
Lord_Ouki
Shadow runner

At least these are the ones I remember
Can someone check my profile please.
I can’t see it
You have to click on the “Expand” thing to see your own profile.
It shows your old name though.
