New Name Change Policy

I’ve been thinking about this name changing issue.

Starting this week, new policy on name changes. I have now almost lost track of who might be who on here because of the number of name changes over the past one year or more. I’m not the only one.

After some discussion, here is a name change policy.

Please go to your profile, and update it with your previous names.

You can see Forum Ambassadors’ profiles as examples.

“Former names: [then list all former names]”

The only exception as of now is if you have previously contacted a moderator about a privacy concern to have your forum name changed, and that moderator approved it.

If this applies to you, then leave out the name from your profile that you’re approved to omit for privacy reasons.

Random inspections will begin at 0100 GMT, 20 February 2025.

Would you please like the above post to acknowledge you have read it?

Thank you.

Thank god lol. With all the name changes (and then profile pic changes), I can’t figure out who’s who.

What of in the off chance that the person can’t remember a previous username?

This was overdue. I‘m on here as an active member about a year and a couple months. I cannot tell if the same users are still here since I registered and in the end I didn‘t even care anymore, many users were just fleeting appearances to me with no history I connected to. I think the community will benefit from this decision.

I feel the same way, it’s hard to know who is who after names changes…
I wanted to change name also but I don’t care that much so I will remain badboi, lol.

I’m giving myself this for not having any name changes.

I am one of the earliest customers of Subliminal Club and have never changed my user name .

Some people who used to be active in the forum are now gone, and I miss their posts.

However, many have changed their names so frequently that the whole forum looks unfamiliar to me at times, even if many of the oldies are still around.

More than happy about this decision.
Since following the name change thread and screenshoting the applications, its much easier to keep track, but it’s still confusing.

Changing my name has the only reason that I evolved and that I wanted that to be reflected in my name.

About the name change policy, I already had incorporated it when I changed my name. I want people to know who I am and I’m not ashamed of my past, despite a few flags in the beginning.

@RVconsultant would you include period of how long you must keep a name or something like that? Maybe only one name changer per quarter?

Also what about profiles that are set on private?

And what if the profile space isn’t enough for all the usernames (@RockyHandsome :joy:)?

I actually thought about this yesterday how weird it is to converse to some arch alchemists, and not having a clue who it is sometimes. I back this decision.

Why would a King change his name?

There is something important about the power of “the group”. It’s like a mastermind effect.

Post here all your previous names you can remember, and probably someone on this forum will help you remember your other name(s).

I laughed so hard when I saw this, and I don’t know why.

I get it. You start with a name that perhaps embodies what you aspire to. Then you change and you want another name to reflect those changes. A changed you. Changed aspirations.

I must also hand myself a :trophy:.

As of now, I personally do not want to set a limit on name changes. BUT that doesn’t mean someone gets to have a name change every other week.

What do you mean about profiles set on private? I want to know more about that because from my perspective I can see almost everything that goes on, such as deleted posts, edits, etc.

What about just canceling changing names and only allowing it if you have a wedding or your first child was born?
I would guess this would solve the whole thing.

One example posted conveniently right beneath you.

So there’s no possibility to look into the profile to see previous usernames.

Okay, that clarifies because apparently I can see hidden profiles. So thank you for speaking up about this because I wouldn’t have known.

And you do bring up a good point. After all, how is this going to help people know who is who if you can’t see it?

And setting up a new account is still a name change.

How about a price for changing the name just for fun?

Currently thinking that getting tazed to the genitals is an appropriate price to pay.

Only half kidding here.

But which half…
