Music producer/musicians tips & resources

I kinda wanted to see who else on here are music producers or musicians? I know a few but I feel like we’re all scattered lol.

Also in anticipation of vibes I thought I’d open a thread for sharing resources that have helped us out with our craft. Just opening discussion for now. I’ll be back later to drop some stuff that’s helped me over the years

My “whatever he is” is a music producer/musician. :joy:

He’s rebuilding his home studio atm.

Next to just going in and tweaking knobs yourself, this is hands down the best training for sound design. I have to get back into it.

Best electronic drums I’ve heard. Tons of character and variety. If you’re into any type of EDM they’ve got all the vintage drum machines covered.

Good way to brush up on theory. A lot of pop songs they break down, but pop has some pretty solid songwriting fundamentals anyone can build off of

When I still worked in a DAW I liked this vst for reigning in sample organization chaos. If you are a drum sample hoarder

That’s all I can think of for now. I’ve got a ton of bookmarks I’ve created over the years for random forum wisdom I ran across. But honestly I wish someone told me at the beginning to just create, don’t worry about learning everything because you honestly can’t with music production. It’s so massive. You’ll drive yourself nuts waiting until you’re ready to write songs vs just writing them and going through that awkward stage of discovery.
