Main Idea Thread -- Godlike Masculinity: The Commander

Initially, I started with full loops. But I immediately noted that people were not respecting me when I talk. I have some trouble with my breath support and that sometimes causes the volume of my voice to be low. I noticed people just cutting me off and talking louder than me. This got me so pissed that started shouting and getting angry.

But on the positive side, after a few weeks I started to notice more respect from people. People giving me less flack.

This is also the title that convinced me that using microloops might be useful sometimes.

I love Jocko’s Extreme Ownership work. To me this is the essence of true commanding and leadership. I would highly recommend, at the very least, having a lot of ownership scripting in this. As someone who spent eight years in the military and who has seen all kinds of terrible leadership, those who demonstrated real ownership were always the best leaders and commanders.

I’ve been thinking, the original commander was scripted partly as a “command yourself” sort of subliminal.

That part regarding extreme ownership reminds me of that.

OG commander had inner circle. Would the new version got inner circle updated still?

About leadership,
Someone died in my neighbourhood so on same day we went to visit the family they were all sad we were all sad and you could see the family left (6 people, oldest 50yo, youngest 22 yo0) were` sad and desperate and lost.

Then that other neighbourrgh came in slowly spoke in a voice that came out both soft and firm and say something like we’re all sad, and to the family he said ok thats how we gonna do it. And he started to tell everybody what to do, like morgue, cemetary, people to call. And it was the perfect thing to do at that moment, that guy stepped in talked when nobody was then all he said was the right thing to say and he laid out what made so much sense to do. then the family said ok and it was like what he said helped them to wake up and do what needed to be done at that moment for their mother who died. That guy took charge and led and it was so natural for everyone to follow. The more I think about this guy it is like he always know what to do, even if he is in a new situation. like a real commander.

What a perfect image for what I see as a real commander, too. Thanks for sharing that story!

The gravitas and (broadened) protector scripting from Emp:D could be a good addition.

I suspect GLM:C will come with a lot of tools (especially aura & rhetorical ones) to get people moving. Stuff like curating the options, social framing, being laser focused on a goal and bringing it back to it. Like the focus of E:E.

Reflecting on it: The sharp focus on a greater goal and the conversational framing of it as the key aspect could be a good element. It is a clear reference, personal sensitivities (implicitly) always take a bit of a backseat.

Most definitely. Every good commander needs good allies.

I’m thinking about the drive and desire from Hero St4.

Also, vitality, vitality and vitality! Something in Emperor Daddy’s energy scripting, something in The Beast Unleashed. Probably also some unique scripting tailored to Commander?

Goal is not to make Commander into a workout program, but if we talk about “drive”, vitality needs to be cranked up to the max!

Quickly, I’m thinking : Synergy: Preordained Vitality, Inner Gasoline, Khan Black, Energetic Development XI (I’ve felt it work well for my energy levels), Inner Blaze.

EDIT : I’ve never tryed AEON, but since Hero St4 definitly have some powerful self expression, passion and drive scripting that could be included in Commander, I believe AEON also have some interesting energy scripting that could be tailored to a “masculine drive” type of effect.

Leading by example could be a good aspect for GLM:C especially with social stuff. In newly gathered groups rituals and social contracts are often established by the first person doing “it”, like greeting, paying for the first round etc. This would help GLM:C to shape the group and its direction.

And it would help with the aura and building rapport especially if the social situation is a bit unclear. The others will often just mimic C (who is greeted first and how at a gathering etc.), to not f*** it up. But C has to be first, decisive and needs a really good pokerface.

From Hero TLTB St4, few features , honestly all the features are amazing, Hero St4 light should be made into something :

  • Flame of Courage
  • Shared Flame
  • Burning the Challenges
  • Unfuckwithable

Anyway, there is a gold mine in hero St4 for something extremely masculine and commanding which I believe would fit right in Commander, some form of adapted scripting would be great.

Something else is having difficult conversations or taking hard decisions such as breaking up, firing someone, saying no, telling someone he fucked up. Not the so called tough love but doing hard things and saying hard truth. Not sure if there is a module that already help with that.

“I may be wrong, but I’m never in doubt” type of mindset.

Being in the haze mentally can drain so much energy. One feature of Commander should be geared toward making the decision with the best of one’s ability with the information avaliable.

Once a decision is made, it can be revisited with the apparition of new information, but the confidence in one’s decision needs to be solid for every man.

What’s the move to do? Should I go talk to that girl? Should I pitch this idea to that person? Should I say this or that? All tiny questions we have in life that can take up so much energy, a Commander will anwser all these questions with unwavering certainty (iron frame?) and be at peace with the decision made.

I may be wrong, but I’m never in doubt.

The Harnessing Mentality. Utilization - 利用/化解心

Challenge, Adversity, Setbacks …

Make me happy.

They get me galvanized and put a light in my eye and a fire in my heart.

There is no discouragement. If it arises it just feeds the fuel.

I use whatever comes to me. Like a master chef.

I metabolize thorns and rocks, darts and poisons to create restorative elixirs that feed my soul. And sometimes I laugh and whoop as I ride the maelstrom, like Pecos Bill.

Slightly crazy? Perhaps. But also extremely effective.

Well this Alexander was commanding generals. He was litteraly commanding men who had their own armies, their own militia. Those generals were litteraly already alphas of alpha used to do all kinds of things.

I think display of dominance are necessary in some contexts. Yes not killing people, but strong display of dominance are necessary when youre leading sharks imo. It should not be neglected.

In my experience Khan and Commander are the most edgy subs. with positive aggression.
I havent tried Emperor Black though.

Maybe to disentangle it a bit:

Should GLM:C help with an edge and the tools to put down someone verbally?

This I would agree with. As stated before there are moments where it might be needed (making an example, establishing new rules, someone is openly adversarial, leadership is challenged, to defend your frame etc.)

And if it is included, as this is Zero Point, anyone can use it how he likes.

The context with the quote is a bit different.

Exactly: When he said it he was king and legend, so had enough social capital (and then some) to do and say whatever he likes. But that’s not were most of us are. Military examples imo don’t help as they just have a different code.

Reflecting on it: Social capital could be an interesting topic for GLM:C.

Maybe it would help to divide it a bit:

A strong edge (and a complimentary pokerface) to defend the rules, system, the frame, the leadership against “enemies”.

But when it comes to the people to be lead, GLM:C should have imv a strong emphasis on building relationships, trust, loyalty, safety. (And a bit us vs. them can help with this too.)
