Main Idea Thread -- Godlike Masculinity: The Commander

A couple of articles to inspire you  I think the vision at subclub is not to become one of them but to become better than. Giving yourself the tools to go toes to toes with them, while being able to inspire and lead everyone else.

The point it, it is highly possible to grow as a well rounded person with good intention and empathy, while being able to defend your point or break someone who have problems or are being assholes.

Yeah that’s the idea lol

Being nice has gotten a bad rap, personally I think it’s an admirable attribute except in the following situations:

  1. Being nice as a mask in order to manipulate others to get what you want. Inner work and a commitment to honesty and openness and integrity works wonders here (but avoid using honesty as an excuse to be cruel).

  2. Lacking boundaries and the ability to enforce them. Learning to say no and removing manipulative people from your orbit helps here.

Frankly I miss people and society being nice, everyone seems to be a selfish and opinionated asshole these days. And a heart-felt “fuck you” to social media for driving this.

That’s me. I am fighting myself very hard to say no or not being scared to offend some people (not all people).
Edit : lol enough about me .)

E:E brings a lot of drive. I suspect we will see something similar in GLM:C. A module for sublimating aggression and inner tension would be interesting.

These kind of articles always forget the second part: Yes, narcissists and sociopaths often climb quickly, because they disregard other human beings, BUT they have a really hard time to stay on top, because there is no real emotional connection, trust or loyality which you need for stability.

The Edge
This is simply the ability (not just capacity) to assert yourself as the commander in any situation—physically, mentally, socially, energetically, and possibly spiritually.

I didn’t use capacity because you can have all the tools and still don’t know how to wield them. Wielding this depth of “edge” takes skill—when to wield, how to wield etc.

Now, I’m also of the opinion that “a true leader won’t have to wield this edge” but it’s not the full thing when we come to reality.

What sort of commander cannot defend those being led?

What sort of commander cannot navigate and advance when confronted?

What sort of commander cannot maneuver in the fray of battle or in uncharted territory?

I can also bet that there are some that in the current arc of their own journey, may refuse to be led, unless you have been practically proven to be superior, even when they need leadership.

What will you do when they confront you?

Gents we can’t have an ironically calm but empty barrel as a commander now, can we?

And No, this “edge” is not to be wielded only as a last resort or thrown around as “dominance” confetti, it is wielded when called for. This then gives room for wisdom and ties in with the skill based aspect of the title.

100%! But it shows why we sometime see many people acting like asshole in position of power.

I haven’t had the chance to try it. Does executive push you to act in a stressful and anxious manner, or more in an empowered and way? It’s hard for me to accuratly describe vitality, but if it’s the former where you just feel an immense pressure to do something, it’s definitly not vitality.

Here is a chatGPT description of vitality :

Vitality is your overall capacity to generate and use energy—physically, mentally, and emotionally—so you can function at your best.

It’s the combination of:

  • your nervous system’s regulation,
  • your metabolism’s ability to produce energy,
  • your hormonal balance,
  • your recovery,
  • and your baseline motivation and mood.

In simple terms: vitality is how alive, strong, and capable you feel. It’s the inner fuel that makes everything easier—thinking, moving, acting, recovering, and enjoying life.

Reading this I notice my vitality hasn’t been the highest for my whole life damn xD

A person with high vitality acts energized, clear-minded, and proactive. They make decisions easily, recover quickly from stress, stay emotionally stable, and move with confident, grounded presence. Their focus is sharp, their mood steady, and they consistently have the “fuel” to take action instead of reacting or dragging themselves through the day.

Lots of days, probably like 85% of my days on earth I feel like I’m dragging myself through the day…

Of course always difficult to generalize, but for me it was the latter, especially when I tried it alone.

And for the rest of your post: This is E:E! Like exactly E:E.

Maybe the only caveat: Enjoying life, like parties, social gatherings, entertainment take a bit of a backseat. E:E is really about drive and getting things done.

Thats perfect. I might try EE in my next run, GLM, EE and AoW. We’ll see how I act, of course, it would be nice to have a strong vitality included in GLM : Commander, something with a strong masculine twist

Did you notice better libido on EE?

Non. There when needed, but I was mostly happily working.

In the beginning it was a bit weird. One day I got a bit tired and when I looked at my phone, I realized it has been already been a 15 hour workday.

I suspect the recalibrated (aspects of Regeneration included) version will be even better. The spa feeling for rest times would be perfect.

Nahhh, that’s Emperor’s resilience.

I just thought Emperor + Anti-recon tech and inner spa will be insane.

@HeroicDragon made a good point, emperor’s whole thing is resilience? Or reaching goals through resilience?

But I still feel like a commander would do that, be that guy who just has such a big vitality that can go through anything.

People follow him partly for it. Keyword here is partly

My top 3 titles for resilience are the new Regeneration, the new GLM and ASBR.

  • ASBR resilience feels like “I will push through now because I am unstoppable”.

  • GLM resilience feels like “I will endure whatever it takes”.

  • Regeneration resilience feels like “I am releasing the tension and going back to work”.

I never tried Emperor and I have read somewhere that the resilience scripting is stronger in ASBR.

KHAN never gave me much resilience at all for some reason?!?

The new EE scripting also goes well hand in hand with any resilience scripting.

@JCDenton : Emperor is the resilience king. You will find yourself welcoming challenges and sometimes actively looking for them just for the joy of defeating them and growing from it.

I literally just posted about that here:

Damn, I never tryed ASBR, but I keep hearing good things.

Anyway, a Commander still needs high resilience because other people respect him and look up to him, he needs to be top shape to make decisions and lead.

Goes hand in hand with energy in my opinion, with high energy you’ll bounce back and do what you need to do, with low energy, it will be hard to face the challenge so everything seems harder.
