I disagree. Congruency is everything.
If someone ends up in the “friend zone” then he wasn’t congruent in the first place, because he was asexual a did not position himself right.
This guy (Robert Greene) is an academic. Not sure whether he has actually any real life experience with regards to seduction of women… 
Also, no one really knows what these so called “greatest seducers” actually did in real life. Maybe they where just on semen retention and women liked them for their energy and it does not matter how they actually behaved?
All we have is written down stuff from people who observed these people. So if these observers greatly misunderstood how and what they where actually doing, then there is no way to know what these “greatest seducers” actually did. Most of them are just famous because some authors and news sources of their time hyped them up.
Neither Greene, nor his sources understand congruency or are even aware of it (not even to mention their lack of awareness on the power of sexual energy, internal status and subconscious frameworks).
Besides that, what’s the point in “seducing” someone when they are ALREADY sexually attracted to you out of their free will? Makes seduction kinda redundant…
