I’m not expert enough on this topic to truly answer your question.
Just using my intuition and my sense.
just my opinion: edging seems too narrowly focused on the specific point of contact and the specific region of stimulation. Seems like it ignores the larger context and the deeper causes around PE. That strikes me as insufficient. It might give you some marginal increase in how long you last, but it’s also kind of hyper-focusing you on the exact underlying things (tension, drivenness, outcome focus, goal-oriented sex, and so on) that seem to cause PE in the first place. But you did say that you were applying a broader approach and that this was just one part.
I think that what would probably help more would be to find sex partners who really like you, and are turned on by you, and who are interested in sex as more than just pumping away, like you’re pumping up a bicycle tire or something.
Then your own focus for sex gets broader and much more interesting, and your tension about that one particular detail of sex (pumping, pumping) starts to decrease.
Anyway. Everybody has opinions. That one’s mine. So just add it to the opinion pile, and try what you try until something works.
