Because I was raised by someone who had little money, believed it could disappear for any reason, and it held her to fears of losing even the little she made. She didn’t have a helpful mindset with money.
I’ve known I’ve wrestled with this myself. Small things like knowing I have $7 in my pocket, but purposely planning where I could safely spend it throughout the week. Because (here’s my reason) if you don’t have it, you’ve got nothing to lose. That’s the flip side of the scarcity mindset. Which is why I do well with income, but I often or always have a plan on where to spend it. The “I may lose it” thinking has lead me to willingly surrendering it week by week.
How could I grow my wealth if I’m constantly planning on removing it due to the mental pressure I put on myself?
And I did have success with such scripting on another wealth sub years back. Another producer. I was on a lunch break near a dollar store, when everything was only $1. It was like Tuesday, and I got paid Friday. I went in, and spent the $3 I had on me for 3 plentiful snacks–which I used on the job daily.
I remember leaving the store and feeling just the edge of a knee-jerk panic. I was now BROKE. However, that drastic fear did not rise like it always had. It was extremely familiar to me, and in my mind I actually went looking for it. I couldn’t pull it up. I realized the sub was working for me.
I’ve also been witness to people in my sphere recently who are owned by this fear, though one might never see it. The wife of a millionaire being paranoid that a family would take their money. This scarcity belief is clearly running her.
And I notice this is a known language in my thinking. I have EOG St.1, but no room or clear plan for it. It’s also why I’ve picked up Emperor from time to time. Those scarcity fears can tear down one’s financial goals quickly.
And since Genesis has so much wealth scripting, I wondered if this is included.
