@James Listen I get it. I’m not your age, but I’m 33 and I’ve essentially had to reboot my whole life. It does suck. There’s grieving there and a desire to not have to do this. But it’s the hard truths we all have to face sometimes. Sometimes starting from square one is the best option because everything up until this point hasn’t served you well. We can all hold onto the fantasy of where we think we’re at and lack progress or we can be honest and do what’s best.
At times life can seem like one big circle jerk of who’s doing better. Life is so variable with so many factors it makes 0 sense to compare to others.
I’m advising Genesis for exactly the reason you don’t have to wait. Genesis spurs action, it puts you in the present. It makes you realize you don’t have to wait, that the results you’re looking for are in the actions you take every day to improve your own life. That’s all there is. I’m honestly surprised you’d rather run something like emperor or DRR. Those are tall orders and subs that seem like a long term investment. I don’t blame you for feeling impatient, I wouldn’t want to wade through multiple stages just to feel better in my life. It’s why I haven’t touched anything like that for a few years.
If there’s one thing I’ve had to learn it’s that life is messy and imperfect. We can plan as much as we want but sometimes it throws you a curve ball. Instead of trying to get it all perfect and ideal it’s better to roll with the punches. And I’m not gonna lie it fucking hurts sometimes when you look outwards and see there are people that don’t have the same battles you’re going through. I will readily admit some people are more blessed than others, it’s the way of the world. We can’t change that, but we can change our relationship to that idea.
And I’m not saying I’m where I want to be yet with Genesis but I’m closer than any other point in my life. I can say that with certainty. I can see things building, stepping stones being put in place, this sub can feel like the world shifting around me to accommodate me vs hunting things down and it’s very supportive.
