I just had an idea.
weird idea that just came to me.
Load up Namecheap with enough to cover my domains for the year, but also load up enough for X more domains.
Like the thing of how Buffett tells people if they were given a punchcard and told they could only invest in 20 companies their entire life, and they’d have to punch a hole for each one, if they picked the 20 best companies as they found them, they’d get very rich.
This is like that. Load up Namecheap with enough money to register up to X new domains over the next year.
Say 3 for this example. I could realistically think of, develop and launch 3 projects over a year and give them the time they deserve.
Used to be, I’d think of a “great” idea, reg a domain for it immediately, then do nothing with it. Then when it came to renew the domain, I’d renew it “because I might still do something with it. It’s a great domain! I’d hate one of those other guys to get it! It’s mine!”
This idea, if I force myself to limit to 3 (or however many) for a year, I would have to really be honest with myself regarding if I’d commit to do what it takes to get the project off the ground.
It does seem like it would cover everything you’re looking for, though.
