I played around with Suno AI and created a few songs. And they turned out really good!!! I can say that it’s over for the music industry. They’d better start thinking about a different line of work.

(I know this is probably a joke but there are people who are actually distraught that AI can follow basic song structure now. It’s almost sad)

AI will never capture the humanity of art and the micro imperfection that would require insane dedicated processing power to mimc.
The question is whether people give a crap enough to notice those differences. Or we just keeping trending further into homogenized music and art outsourced to a prediction algorithm.

Half of the music I listen to is ai. It still has that ai style to it so it’s a style of music somewhat in that sense at least. If that doesn’t change people won’t stick to ai only because variety needs to exist and ai isn’t there yet. Question should be “will ai ever feel so normal we will no longer see it?” So we will see I guess.

I was just expressing my utter shock at how far AI music has come. Just last year, I was saying the exact same thing, that AI would never be able to replicate human artistic talent. Now I’m not so sure. Let’s where we at in two years.

My argument is that AI gives you the illustration that you can do everything and don’t need years of experience or dedication to learn the skills.
This is so dangerous especially for new generation coming the job market. They use AI to do many things and believe that they can become the experts and compete with people with years of experience. This is a very sad hacillunation if they don’t see thru AI.
Another the thing is the ability to slow down, think deeply and be in turn with your inner thinking and passion. Once people keep using AI for everything, theses abilities and skills will be gone.
Subclub uses AI but with suppervisor and testing, Saint and Fire have passions and years of experience so they know how to utilize AI. Think about new enterprises with some subliminal experience that use AI to produce subliminal scripts and sell, I cannot imagine.
AI will oversaturate the markets (not just music but also film, streaming and digital art) and probably devalue a lot of franchises. (If you can generate a film featuring [every MARVEL superhero] vs. [every (other or not) MARVEL superhero] with any ending possible, how quickly will fatigue set in?
People will seek out the human connection, concerts, dance, theater and other stage productions and the handmade, not reproducable arts will boom.
AI will definitely kill postmodernism. Hooray!
Overall I think it will be good for art. Being “real”, actually connecting, touching and moving people without a standard recipe.

@ksub I’m curious to know what exactly got better. From my research suno actually lost a lot of their training dataset because they messed with large music labels. They had to retrain on royalty free music. This is just going to give it even more of an ai sound because there’s even less variety.
