Is Khan and Caan the same origin?

I’ve often wondered if Khan and Caan were of the same origin. The answer is no. Caan’s origin is Scottish, while Khan’s origin is most likely from the Central and Eastern Steppe.

Do they mean the same thing? I’ve only seen ‘Khan’ before, Caan reminds me of the Canaanites from the bible.

They’re both pronounced the same way. Caan is pronounced exactly like Khan. Or at least that’s how how everybody pronounces Scott and James Caan’s last names.

Canaanites on the other hand is pronounced like “Cane na nites” in English.
That’s why I didn’t consider Caan coming from Canaanites.

But I can see how you would think that it came from the word Canaanites.

The fact of the matter is that we are both wrong. Caan is Scottish in origin, and isn’t from Khan or Canaanites.

How do I move it?

I didn’t mean to insinuate that it seemed they come from the same word, my apologies lol. I was thinking out loud.

Are you Scottish? Or do you have an island of your own named after you?

An Island named after me, I would love it! LOL
Take care!
