How to wake up early?

Guys.

I am SO sick of sleeping in past my alarm.

My life has changed so much since I started subs. I’m taking insane amounts of action, i’m super excited about my biz, I work 7 days a week. When I’m awake, I’m either doing one of two things.

  1. Working
  2. Recovering from work with helpful recovery activities.

BUT GOD DAMN IT I CAN’T WAKE UP AT MY ALARM.

I’m sooooo addicted to sleeping in when I hear my alarm. It’s an addicting state of being when I’m half awake and half asleep. My dreams are extremely interesting, my thoughts are extremely exploratory… I enjoy thinking for about 5 minutes and then I’m asleep for another hour.

How do I cut the habit?

Journalling, mantras, I’m willing to do anything. Help me make a plan to never have this happen again. I’m trying to manifest it and I need some help.

Simple.

Give your wife a loaded gun before bed.

So you are one of the tester of Wanted / Diamond ZP ?

It’s really just forming a new habit

I have 3 alarms from jocko. I use my regular alarm, then set one of the jocko alarms 5 minutes later to get that motivation to get up. I also put the alarm a little away so I have to get off the bed to take the Alarm off.
These are the alarms I’m talking about that I use.
Also Mel Robbins says to do the 5 second rule count down 54321 then get up, by the time you get to 3 you are psyching your mind to get up. Do this consistently and it can become a habit

I used to repeat the time I wanted to wake up to myself. It was pretty good.

This might see a little counterintuitive and you might already be doing this since you mention active recovery, but I would learn a simple meditation technique like Transcendental Meditation.

This is a very non-spiritual form of meditation but it gives you body amazing rest. I decided to go deeper into spirituality, but TM helped me a ton with my sometimes insane workload as a lawyer before I decided to take a deeper dive into spirituality.

I think that a simple meditation technique could improve you sleep quality (and productivity) a lot, and as a results it might way be easier to get up in the morning. That was at least what I experienced.

Hahah I feel you so hard on that.

When you are suck into those kinds of dreams (most here cannot relate probably) there is really not much to do about it…

Getting yourself somebody to wake you up and let him wait until you got up e.g. went to the bathroom, and trying to go to bed every day at the same time are the only things that helped me…

what helped me the most is to put alarms at every 5 minutes and putting my phone somewhere where I would have to get up to get it, with the alarm volume all the way up and having a really loud and/or annoying song as my alarm.

so far, Justin Bieber yelling “baby baby oooo” has been annoying me and waking me up on time, sometimes even a bit earlier than the first alarm because of the traumatic experience that song can give you as the first thing you hear every morning

My 2 cents

If you have sage, play that.

Every time I play it, I am up at 5 am amd I tried it so many times
This happens

The obvious answer is go to bed earlier.

OK, I suppose I can expand on that to include good sleep hygiene as well.

however, you should ask yourself WHY you don’t wake up.

Is it because you don’t want to.

Ok, now we are getting somewhere.

Why don’t you want to get up?

You like your dreams and you don’t like your job.

You want to continue doing something you like and you would rather put off something you don’t like.
