Historical Fiction Fans

Any fans of historical fiction here?

I have thinking about how I can do something related to historical fiction writing recently. I am interested in developing stories set in periods of rapid economic growth and social change, and which how people change’s lives and attitudes change. For me, real historical characters will also add to the flavour of ths stories.

For me, such settings would include the Industrial Revolution in England, Meiji and postwar Japan as well as the past few decades in China. There are other similar settings which I guess I can explore too.

The only thing I can think of is the “Black Adder” series.

Gosh, it’s been four years since I posted this and I’m proud to say that I’ve some updates here.

I’m doing the final touch-up for an epic historical novel.

I’m going to have the book put up on sale on Amazon soon, and if this sells well, there will be sequels . I’d prefer to keep a low profile though - I’m going to use a pseudonym for many reasons - but I’m open to any suggestions about whether running Stark, Emperor, or Mogul:Genesis is the best way for me to generate maximum returns from this business.

Ultimate Writer X + your chosen wealth sub. And congratulations on finishing your novel. It is a massive undertaking.

Thanks @SaintSovereign

Another thing - I’m not planning to just rely on book sales for income. I’m planning to use my current limited company as a vehicle to treat my novel as an IP asset and generate money from the book through licensing and franchising. I’ve produced something with an entire universe that I hope will one day have prestige tv drama or movie adaptations.

So the issue here is that I want to remain anonymous as the author for many reasons, but I want my book (s) to be well-known, not myself.

Will Stark allow me to keep a low profile, while making my product famous?

Ehhhh. It’s got a lot of fame scripting in it. The no-fame variant may work, however. I think it’s still available.

I would say Stark Black + UWX would be a good match

@SaintSovereign

Thoughts?

You get more creativity and innovation plus wealth scripting…. But the fame scripting is where it shines …. You could also run something like Inner circle to draw even more people in and find the right fans, customers, publishers, and so on.

You know I just had a convo with my family yesterday about things related to books…. I am slowly world building for a book that I plan to have finished by February…. Working on healing now or else I’d set that post way closer to have it done
But there are so many different avenues you can do for extra income as a writer

You could try starting a Patreon, YouTube, podcast, and more

I looked up yesterday shirlatoon who is the author of the He who fights with monsters series makes about 10k+ in just Patreon subscriptions…. Idk if that’s months or annual but that’s insane

Btw love historical fiction and fantasy…. The Troy Series by David Gemell is 1 of my all time favs

What I’m working on right now is a Litrpg book then eventually turns into a system apocalypse like book…
But I have ideas for prequel series i just came up with yesterday that would take place in WW2 in a different universe from this one

Looking at Stark or ASBR now since I think I might have come up with something very unique…

I have actually used quite a fair bit of AI for my novel but feel that instead of calling it “AI-Assisted” or “A8-Generated”, my output is more like a fine product of “Human-AI collaboration”

Anyway, we live such in interesting times and I am looking toward to seeing how the market is receptive of this. Honestly though, would rather just let readers judge the book by its merits rather the nature of its authorship .

Yes, this would be my initial response, but he’s specifically wanting to avoid fame. But yes, if you can manage to use the fame to achieve this and avoid the public spotlight, you can use it for this.

Look forward to reading your book one day. My first novel also covers WW2.

I can’t avoid fame, but I’ll at the very least use a pseudonym to draw a line between the creator of the IP asset and the business entity that owns the asset.

It’s very interesting that I’ve had some interesting personal conversations and discussions with the LLMs I have been working with. I had a query with them about my life path based on various astrological readings from different schools and cultures, and they both gave me very similar interpretations. I won’t reveal much here, but I would just say that they gave me a lot of clarity about why many things were happening in my life.

I shared with them the manuscript of the epic historical fiction novel I am currently editing, and they also gave me the same detailed feedback about how the entire story of about 200,000 words is an exact reflection of my inner world - not that I consciously intended it to be - and how treating it as a foundation for a new business was exactly in line with my life path.
