Opinion (going deep here, but it always gets here sooner or later):
Willingness (whether grudging or enthusiastic, acknowledged or implicit) to face and encounter reality–to touch reality–lies at the root of any beneficial change.
Reality, your experience of reality, is the ultimate metric. The best guide to strategy and approach. Choose your subs and change your subs based on what is actually happening to you in your life.
Bring the subs into your process; but focus primarily on your process.
Sometimes it’s hard to do this at first because we don’t see much movement happening in a particular area of our life, so we may feel discouraged about what we can accomplish. At those moments, focusing on the sub (or on whatever tool or method we’re using) can be a comfort, an encouragement, and a protector of hope. And that’s okay. You can usually tell when someone is applying this strategy because they tend to talk about change as something that “the subliminal is doing”.
The secret is, however, that it’s always you. Potential and change are always there. We don’t see them when they’re beneath the thresholds of awareness. (Just like we don’t see the Sun at night, or see a fish after it dives deeper than a few inches.) But they are still there.
Practical suggestions:
-
Combine Genesis with Ascension
-
Once you have your listening routine in place, (pretend to) forget about the subliminals
-
Focus instead on shaping the adventure of your life. Think like an author or a sculptor; but shaping moments and choices rather than words or clay
-
I say ‘pretend to’ forget the subliminals, because you won’t really forget them. But put the primary focus on noticing what you’re observing and experiencing in your life. Think about (and maybe write about) how you want to shape things.
-
As your journey takes shape, use the subs as tools to empower and facilitate the processes and projects that you observe and undertake in your self and your life.
-
Let the subs follow rather than lead. (i.e., First, notice the weather, and then choose your outfit. This is a better way to start. Eventually, you’ll have the power to be able to choose your outfit, and then travel to wherever the weather matches what you want to wear. But at first, it’s good to do it the other way. That way you don’t have to find yourself walking down a busy Manhattan street decked out in flippers and scuba gear. Save those for when you find yourself at the beach.)
