For those of you who are good with shadow work, I want to ask this - How do open yourself up to that painful memory/trauma that you are unable to face ?

Thanks a lot, @James and @IRON for your insights! But, you won’t believe what happened a few hours back, after posting this question, I found a course on Shadow Work - almost as if someone in the higher realms was looking out for me ( flying kisses to you, whoever you are :)) . Guess what, it gave me a very great breakthrough that I needed. After finishing the course, I will likely compile my learnings in this same thread so that others too may benefit.

Oh god. I’ve done a lot of shadow work. But doing it from what you learn over the internet is terrifying to me.
Go very slow with this. I’d recommend you engage in only very light shadow work unless you’re doing it in in-person containers.
I would recommend as a type of shadow work to do stream of consciousness journaling on specific memories. You can write ANYTHING you want so long as it’s

connected to those you’ve been affected by the memory (past, present, future, before/during/after the memory) and so long as

you keep on writing, continuously, without stopping, even if you don’t know what to write and you just write “fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck.” A continuous pen-to-paper writing session.
Pick the same memory and write about it 5 times for 15+ minutes each time. You can do Monday-Friday.
The sessions will transform each time. The second session will seem pointless. The fourth session will change your life.
I don’t really find it terrifying. In my opinion, the ego makes it look terrifying. But, if you have a certain control or knowledge of ego and it’s mechanisms, this doesn’t look so terrifying. It is still a bit hard even then but difficulty gradually dissolves away as you do it more and more, and as you gain more confidence.
I may write the message after 5-6 days, since my exams started.
