Headphones or not

Hi all.

I’ve been listening to Revelation of Dreams and Regeneration for a few months now. I’ve been using headphones to listen to the masked versions of both.

Because my major interest is in lucid dreaming it occurred to me that it might be worthwhile to listen to RoD while I was sleeping. Is it feasible to just set the RoD sub to play on my phone or tablet sometime during the night without headphones? If so, would it be better to use the masked or ultrasonic version? Does anyone do this?

Yep. Headphones aren’t required for the current versions of SubClub subs.

Speakers on tablet or phone are good as long as you can hear the mask.

Ultrasonic is another option if the masked disturbs sleep too much.

Thanks for that. I suppose ultrasonic has the advantage of being “silent” but I guess getting the volume right is an issue.

Just follow the instructions in the PDF. It’s pretty foolproof. FrequenSee is a great app

Thankyou. I think I’ll try the masked version at low volume first and see how I go. But I’ll check out the info on ultrasonic as well.

Hope it is 1 loop though.

When I first started RoD I listened to the full 15 minutes, followed by Regeneration. Recently I’ve scaled RoD back to 3 minutes while keeping Regeneration at 15 minutes. My plan would be to fire3 up this 3 minutes + 15 minutes playlist. Just once every second night. Or Maybe 5 minutes for RoD.

That’s good. But am wondering how will you get your playlist to play when you are sleeping?

I have an app called Alarm Clock Xtreme on my tablet which lets you play music files as the alarm. It has an autodismiss setting that turns the alarm off after a specified time. So I can configure it so it to plays a sub as an alarm for the length of the sub and then shuts down. I’ll have to see if it can take a playlist, but if not I can just schedule another alarm that plays after the first has shut down.

Very interesting. Okay cool. That will work.

Do make sure to set your app to run only one loop of Revelation of Dreams and Regeneration each though. As it is we have many reports over here on the forum when people run multiple loops by mistake and get a ton of reconciliation which they then take out on the forum, not to mention the depression, mood swings, etc they have to endure for a couple of days.

Thank you for clarifying. Appreciate it.

Actually, that raises a question. If I only listen to, say, 5 minutes of RoD, can I do that each night rather than every second night. I’d stick with doing Regen every second night. Does that work, or is it too much?

Whether it is 5 minutes or 15 minutes, run it every second night.

Gotcha.

I used Audacity to create files of pure silence of varying lengths.
30 seconds
1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes.

Then I add just the right amount needed right into my playlist before the subs. With ultras, I shoot for a minimum of 80 minutes of silence so I’m pretty near the “up” side of the first sleep cycle (when REM will be nigh upon me).

I should clarify that it’s rare for me to run ultras in bed these days, because my headphones/earbuds I had which shut off automatically after so long of no playback, well the broke.

The ones I have now just stay powered on (Not looping subs. Just a playlist of subs and then they stay on and don’t shut off after).

I kinda detest how a certain tech company decided it’s a good idea to remove headphone jacks and force bluetooth, all so they can make a phone even skinnier and more fragile. That’s a topic for a different thread lol.

If I had the house to myself at bedtime, I’d probably do ultras in bed more.

I usually set an alarm for 3 am so I can record any dreams I might have at that stage of the night. I figure I’ll set the subs to run an hour after that so I should be in REM sleep by that stage. The only thing I haven’t figured out is that the alarm app I use lights up the screen of my tablet when it starts an alarm. This is OK when I actually want to wake up but it might wake me up again, which I don’t want. I guess I can just close the tablet or turn it around. Not elegant but probably enough.

Use a sleep mask, a very easy solution.

Good idea.

Yeah I have some of those, especially on Saturdays
And btw I am using one of them too.

I understand what you are asking. The subliminal will likely be processed off and on throughout a 24+ hour period. Hence why we have rest days.

I would encourage you to use headphones to listen to the masked version before you go to sleep.

Often I listen to my playlist just before sleep. Then I take my headphones off after listening, and go to sleep.
