Headphones and speakers for ultima?

Mine are working great.

I’ve found the old beats of my brother. Should be this model https://www.amazon.it/Beats-Dr-Dre-Solo2-Cuffie/dp/B0179XTEPM do you think it’s good?

So my last headphones died that could do the ultrasonic stuff. So I’m outta luck for the time being for headphones use for ultras or Ultima.

Have you gotten noticeable results from playing on speakers? I don’t have speakers that are separate. The best speakers I have in the house are the iMac 27" internals…so they’re at least on the right and left side of the Mac. Think this will work until I have $$$ for headphones or earbuds again?

Is anyone using Samson SR850?

Has anyone got any experience with the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless Gaming Headset? For subs I’ve been using an ancient (since my college days) pair of Sony MDR-XD200s when at my desk and wired Apple earbuds when not, but I need to get a wireless headset for work Zoom calls and I figured I might as well get something that will work for Ultima listening as well.

In general should we be using wireless headphones? Can they keep up with the amount/quality of data being transmitted?

For listening to subs including ultima’s I mostly use a wireless headset (Sony XM3’s) and still experience great benefits / effects from it. Sometimes I also use a wired IEM but it’s hard for me to really feel a difference (although it’s kinda hard to quantify a feeling mhh)

Thanks for posting this!

I was thinking about buying the Sony’s XM3’s until I came across this company that are made up audio designers, engineers, musicians and audiophiles. Which they created a product that is very similar to the Sony’s XM3’s but for cheaper price. I am planing buying them and the best part is you don’t to pay the full price up front. You can pay via Quad Pay for only 4 interest free payments.

If you don’t want to pay $199 I have discount code you can use which is HOLIDAY20. Now the link I provided is not a affiliate link. I am not making any money if anyone clicks the link.

*I contacted the manufacturer to find out if it is possible to turn off and on noise cancellation and the answer is yes.

@SaintSovereign @Fire

Would noise cancellation have any impact on Ultima or ultrasonics or anything about the masked Q format?

Yes, possibly. Hence why we recommend studio grade, flat response.

I understand the appeal of noise cancellation as well as saving some money when buying headphones.

Please check this out… I love my Sennheiser 280. I think I some how got them for about $50

When listing to subs, I do switch off ANC. As ANC clearly alters the sound of the tracks. For regular music I don’t mind and leave it on. However , the main reason for getting the XM3’s was because of LDAC codec support.

Might opt for a studio headphone in the future though . But convenience wise, nothing beats a wireless headphone for me aha.

Yeah I like noise cancellation headphones but I do have one set of headphones. Which are the LS50X Snoop Dogg Limited Edition Headset, that does have a flat no EQ mode which I use for the subs I run.

I was wondering if it is okay to use earbuds with Ultima and any other audio format? I read the instructions but I did not see anything addressing this question.

So far I have not gotten a definitive answer

Earbud question above.

Personally @spiritman23 I always use flat response headphones with Ultimas.

Do I have to buy Limitless, because I don’t really get the concept of flat response :stuck_out_tongue: Does using it on Bluetooth affect this? I have a cable I can use if I want to, should I?

Don’t overthink it. Most headphones have a built in equalizer that colors the sound. For example, the older models of Beats by Dre used to artificially boost the low-end (among other changes) to give it that signature bass sound. With Ultima, you want a “flat response” set of headphones / studio monitors that won’t apply any modifications to the sound.

Ok thanks for the clarification

can wired earbuds be used for regular q titles?
or is it also better to use headphones for these?
