I am pretty intrigued by this device for sampling and composing music. You may be familiar with software trackers like Renoise. This is the first hardware take on the tracker concept as far as I am aware.

Psht! Once you experience the full power of FastTracker 2, everything else is amateur hour. 
Ah, the memories come flooding back. Nice idea though, building hardware around it.
I find the method of composition used with a tracker to suit me.
The price is pretty fair on this hardware tracker and it is portable. I like the idea of it being basically self contained.
Super cool, I like how intuitive everything is laid out and there’s not a lot of menu diving. I never could get behind the tracker workflow though for entering notes.
Having said that some amazing artists used trackers and it definitely gives you a certain freedom conventional DAWs can’t replicate
