Looks like being a CEO is no longer all it’s cracked up to be!

Well that’s true that being a leader is harder now.
It’s a matter of incentives.
If a CEO has made it the last 2-4 years, stock prices are sky high, what’s more valuable, the golden parachute or the unknown road ahead to hopefully have a bigger parachute?
If they take the golden parachute now, they can retire and come back in 2-5 years as a Chairperson of the Board and keep playing the business game at a different level.

If you have the personality for it sure. Lots of power, ability to control people, prestige, great money….
A small pool of people are well suited to it I’d imagine.
