In college, the word people often used to describe me was “delusional”—weird, or more bluntly, “crazy.” I received plenty of awards and recognition, yet I remember, with crystal clarity, how often I struggled to justify my existence—to understand why I was even here.
At one point, I joined a music band. I already played piano, so I assumed switching to guitar wouldn’t be too difficult. But I was quickly met with frustration—it didn’t come as naturally as I’d hoped. Thankfully, the team was supportive. One bandmate gave me a piece of advice I’ll never forget: “Feel the music with your heart. You don’t have to know all the notes.”
That changed everything. I started playing the guitar awkwardly at first—but from that point on, I’ve been able to create a lot of beautiful music.
Believing in yourself to an almost unrealistic degree might sound reckless, but it can be the key to unlocking extraordinary success. Delusional confidence and unwavering faith in your vision despite obstacles have fueled some of history’s greatest achievements.
Delusional confidence can be a double-edged sword. It can be helpful in some cases, but harmful if left unchecked or disconnected from reality.
It can be used as a momentum builder or in overcoming fear but If confidence prevents you from recognizing limitations, learning from mistakes, or adapting to feedback, it becomes self-sabotaging. If confidence turns into arrogance or dismissiveness, it can strain relationships and reduce trust.
I seen this on Donald Trump or that supreme leader guy in North Korea, and ME.
I never wanted people to touch me.
I can make anyone done, if I wanted too.
But that was my past.
Ever since I listened to Dragon Reborn the way I look at the world is quite different.
I can feel the love of anyone around me.
But I never said this ‘delusional confidence’ is bad, ny harnessing this mindset, you can shift your reality, attract opportunities, and manifest the life you truly desire.
Aim for “earned confidence with bold imagination.” Be bold enough to believe in yourself beyond your current reality—but grounded enough to stay adaptable, learn, and grow.
