Breaking down a big custom into manageable sub

For a heavier sub might I suggest a modified type of schedule more and more advanced users are using that gives you 2 back to back rest days per week, plus very specific listening and rest days?

For this modified schedule many users choose M W F for the listening days with Sat and Sun for the rest days. If you schedule in two rest days in a row it is like a mini washout.

You still have 30 actual listening days and each cycle takes 10 weeks (3 listening days per week).

Plus whatever days you pick you know that, for example, it’s Monday so today is a listening day. Etc.

I might try that

For this one, are you still doing microloops for this schedule or is it full 15 mins

That part is up to you. There are a couple of long-term users that I know who are sticking to 30 second loops and now are wondering if longer loops are even necessary.

These are people who can process quite a bit too. So experiment. I know 30 seconds doesn’t sound like much but it seems to do the job. This is with the new technology, but even for customs that are pre-ZPU.

Both Makh and I have scaled back to micro and see strong results with it

Tbh when I have done just 30 seconds of any sub, I noticed great results with no recon, but I always think ohh I have to run more to get more benefits but harsh recon usually follows right after

I have this mentality that if I don’t move up then I won’t see the results I’m looking for from the objectives

I feel you. I have the same mentality and it’s difficult to break. So you’re not alone. I’m very new to the subs (November 21) will be my 1 year anniversary.

Luckily a couple of people on here have befriended me who’ve been successfully using these subs for years ( two are 7+) and so I genuinely take their advice because I see their results in their journals.

I’m building my 1st custom sub in a month or so and Support (the official Support you submit a ticket for) and they suggested this sub to start out with 15 second loops and stay with 15 seconds for a while. It is a healing sub and will dig into some emotionally charged areas.

But 15 seconds! And that’s an official recommendation. LOL. Honestly, these subs are much more powerful now. You read posts from literally just a couple of years ago and they were listening for a loop of 15 minutes every other day and sometimes a couple of subs for 15 minutes each.

15 seconds recommended for my custom, and not a typo. LOL.

Oh, I forgot to mention about switching over to the recommended schedule where you have 2 days off in a row. About two and a half weeks ago I thought, why not I’ll try this.

I kid you not, that should be the official recommendation. Those two days off are genuinely like a mini washout. It helps out the integration of the subs substantially. It’s also so easy to calculate how long the round is going to be.

Me personally, when I do my washout towards the end of the month I’m counting on six days. One says he only does 3 days for a washout and that works out for him because you have so many 2 days off in a row. But I like to keep things simple and give it a little more time.

I’ve noticed that. MAkh went into a little detail with me and I like the idea. Like he said, and I think you have also in other posts, you increase the time and you start getting Recon. You can deal with it, heck you guys really had to deal with it 2 years + ago.

But ultimately, what’s the point if you are getting excellent results at 30 seconds with no recon with the new technology?

I might have to take 3 days off and start at 15-30 secs
you are right, ZPU is no joke

If thats the recommended recommendations then might as well. It’s funny, when I first started subs a few years ago I remember running subs for like 15 mins back to back to back and get some recon but, now when I attempt to do that with ZPU, even if its like 3 mins, I get the worst recon I have ever experienced damn. My QTKS…before ZPU…is the only sub I can run 5-7 mins without much recon

I’ve basically been in a recon fog this whole time and starting to realize it and have to push my time way way down

I think it’s one of those things, especially for the guys who were here way before the new listening schedule got implemented, when it was like 15 mins every other day, so now 30 secs seems unbelievable…but better to see small small success and build momentum then be in recon fog and not taking action

Im pretty sure that long listening times cover more advanced topics tho from what iv read from saint or fire

heard this too, its like moving to level 2, 3 , 4 etc to more advanced stages

I have read that also. I’m genuinely wondering about ZPU (Saint is calling this current tech ZPU Preview). I can’t find the couple of recent posts from about a month ago, but Saint was saying they are working on technology that you would only have to listen to something like two minutes once a week.

However, he also made it clear that a lot of testing would have to be done and they just don’t really have the resources right now to test it.

I’m going to build my 1st custom here very soon and Support cautioned to keep my loops to 15 seconds for some time since it’s going into some very emotionally charged areas and to literally keep my loops to 15 seconds and that " The relevant guidance is simply that this is a lot of processing to introduce at once, so start at fifteen seconds rather than thirty and work up through the intervals slowly. There’s no advantage to moving faster…"

That’s not saying to NOT move up at all, and this is specific to my build and my personal history. But 15 seconds still blows my mind. It take almost 5 seconds for the sound to fade in. Makes you wonder how much information is in 15 seconds?

I genuinely thought 30 seconds was a joke.

I actually reduced listening times on my new stack from 30s to 15s as I felt low energy and low mood from 30s. The change seemed to help as well. I’m sure I can go back up to 30s soon enough, but I’ll keep doing 15s for a few more listening days I guess

I just found it interesting that Support told me “there’s no advantage to moving faster” meaning increasing those loop times. It would seem that increasing loop times is more repetition. I’m sure there is more advanced information with longer loops, but ultimately, just like you’re doing, if there is recon, back up a little on the loop times. You’ll grow more in the end doing that with ZPU titles.

I’m quite new (1 year Anniv coming up November 21) but even I think that I need longer loops. Poor Saint keeps trying to tell everyone “less is more”. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

check this out

the way I understand it, as long as you still have some specific basic issues, you won’t be able to increase exposure. And when you are finally getting more advanced, with real world milestones, etc., that’s when you can also increase exposure

that said, there are also other factors such as nervous system health, your own capacity for change, etc. etc. etc.

EDIT: just to illustrate it better, here’s how Mogul MIGHT THEORETICALLY work within that framework (everyone is different and will react differently, so it’s just an example. Maybe you are the type of person who will be lead straight to starting their own business under Mogul’s guidance)

Taking an extreme case of someone growing up in poverty and yet having zero work experience, very poor money beliefs, etc.

the first part might look like actually just opening that person up to the idea that THEY can make money. Showing them that they can work a job and that there’s nothing scary about it, etc.

second part might be starting to save up financial cushion and doing basic investing in safe currencies or crypto

then they might move on to trying to open business

and then go to financial freedom

and these milestones would be a great part to increase exposure (if otehr factors such as NS health are in check). That’s how I see it in an ideal world

Thank you so incredibly much for posting this and explaining this. Absolutely makes surface sense, but the progressive detailing I think is what I was missing and your post fills in that gap in understanding.

I love how you and especially @Fire explained the stage details.

Somehow I’m going about these subs in the right way (I genuinely think it’s my management training and experience kicking in). Man I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve read about a sub and get that shiny object syndrome. Heck I’d LOVE to work on my Romance portion of my life, but I knew I needed to calm my system first.

Then I needed to work on my financial stuff (was doing good but life caved in on me all at once), then the romance part. Sometimes I want to skip ahead, but that’s just it, I’d be skipping ahead.

The only reason why I bring this up is I think this analogy fits “Breaking down a big custom into manageable sub”, it’s the same theme to “creating a life I love”. Break it down. I call it “chunking”, but it’s essentially the same thing.

This is why the guidelines for taking actions in the manual are so important. Even something as small as going from wallflower to joining clubs involves measurable milestones and overcoming limitations.

And I’ll add, patience.

I journal. A LOT.. It’s not the only action I take. But action is a key part missing with those that struggle to grow with the subs.

Action and Patience. I struggle sometimes with the patience, but I still do it. I might kick and scream but I always let patience win. :stuck_out_tongue:
