Wireless vs Wired Headphones

Does anyone know if wireless headphones affect the quality or ability to receive subliminals? I am no expert but I think even with the newest version of Bluetooth 5.3 they are compressing the audio to be able to send it so quickly between devices. I may be wrong. Would this affect the subliminal audio file?

Is wired headphones the only option and safe bet?

There is hardly an difference between them, my friend.

Whether the headphone be wired or wireless, expensive or cheap, the subliminals will work.

The only recommendation is that it play music with a decent sound quality and you are good. The reason being that it shouldn’t be a very low quality headphone.

Thanks for letting me know @Lion. That’s what seems to be the consensus reading different forums on here.

The perfectionism in me had me thinking wired IEM with a frequency range up to 40kHz was the only option. Knowing that the subs were ultrasonic, I thought those were in the super high kHz range.

Happy to help

There are more knowledgeable audiophiles on the forum and they might chime in but am of the opinion that headphones don’t make as much of a difference since the subliminals themselves (plus joursllign and taking action) are more than sufficient for great results.

I get great results from just regular run of the mill airpod 2s. Bluetooth all the way.

Good thinking on the ultrasonic thing but they aren’t really just making a 28k signal and playing that back.

Personally I found the information I found on ultrasonics and carrier signals and modulation really interesting. If you might also google around for subliminal ultrasonic modulation. It’s good stuff.

Don’t use the ultrasonic versions with headphones btw

IEMs, in general, are not good long-term for any audio as they can damage our ears. At least that’s what I read from my research before. Ear doctors recommend headphones instead. I prefer a wired closed-back version with a low clamp force for long desktop sessions so it’s comfortable and I don’t have to keep charging it. I use a BOSE QC25 with earpad covers for extra comfort. A frequency range/response of 20kHz is good enough for subliminals but maybe I’ll change to Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohms later.

I’m not, I have read that’s a “don’t do” rule. I thought though that the masked version is the masked sound with ultrasonic script just turned way down. But I’m probably wrong cause then why would they need the masking.

Wow!!! I have not read this, I need to do some research. That’s alarming, thanks for bringing that to my attention @Niten_Ichi-ryu

When you say headphones, your talking about over ear vs in ear earphones?

@IndrasNet Over-ear as opposed to On-ear headphones bro. Cups that rest outside the entire ear. On-ear headphones rest on your ears effectively pressing them. In-ear earbuds and in-ear headphones, the type you plug your ear holes with, are supposedly bad. Here is a comparison Which type of headphones are best for you? Of course, loud volume levels and overexposure still end up being detrimental. That’s why I alternate desktop speakers along with it. Mine are generic edifiers at the moment. Plan to switch to studio monitors. Narrowed it down to Yamaha HS5, KRK Rokit 5 G4, Adam T5V and Pioneer VM-50 with the VM-50s winning based on my research on ratings at audiosciencereview forums.

Depends on the headhphones to be honest if it’s cheap headphones wired or wireless both will be potentially less good results then a high end and high quality headphone like Airpods Max (wireless) or beyerdynamic (wired).

Funny you mention Beyerdynamic, ending up getting a nice pair from them to use. I also have AirPod Pro 2nd gen but don’t trust that there isn’t something lost in the compression using bluetooth, so I rather wired.

After some time now using different headphones below are all the headphones I have used and are currently using. I am getting awesome results from the subs. They all have a wide frequency range which I person think is important. Though others mention using cheap low grade headphones which mostly likely have awful tiny frequency ranges. I also stick to only wired phones, most my criteria is driven by me being an audiophile. The list is in order of price.
