Why are hardgainers hardgainers?

I was thinking after reading a reply saint made in a post. What are the kinds of ppl who are most likely to be hardgainers?

What would be the difference between a person who is very well balanced verses someone with mental illnesses?

or someone who is physically healthy vs ill physically?

or an extremist in politics or a religion or some ideology. They are very stubborn and can’t have sense talked into them. It’s hard to show them out of their views but at the same time they are easily manipulated by things that support their views. so do these characteristics transfer to subliminal influences on them?

I’m questioning this not just for curiosity. I’m wondering if there is any mental programing that I have or physical limitations or any limitations preventing me from getting the most results that I can get. If I understand why hardgainers are limiting their results then maybe it can be translated into my life so I can optimize my own results.

@Abundance Did you ever get the answer to this thread’s question? Can you publish it?

My 2 cents: IMO there are different kinds of hardgainers. (Not even sure if the term is helpful, as it is a catch all for slow progress.)

For me it is a very robust critical factor which filters the subliminal input. With ZP it got much better. Not sure if it is possible to deduct traits, but corresponding would not be stubborness, but rather (over-?)analytical and critical tendencies.

Just some thoughts. Imagine someone who strongly believes that change is hard or that personal growth is tough. This belief can become stronger in the brain over time. Basically, the brain gets used to thinking this way.

For instance, if someone has grown up constantly hearing that nothing is possible for them, that they’re a failure, and that they can’t change, these beliefs can become deeply ingrained. Even after trying self-help or therapy, if nothing seems to change, these beliefs might become even stronger.

So, when subliminal messages try to introduce new ideas that go against these strong beliefs, the brain’s ability to change might work against what we want. The brain is used to resisting change, and this could make it less open to new influences, even subtle ones like subliminal suggestions.

Agreed, and to piggy back off your point, some people have associated their identity so strongly with a framework that when subs come into the picture, it threatens their very identity and existence.

And so sometimes to properly assimilate new information, requires the breaking down of old, and a reformation. Sort of like a phoenix.

Dragon Reborn, Rebirth would be the tools to do so. Mind you for these types of folks I’d imagine the journey being intensive.

As Albert famously quotes “You cannot solve a problem with the same thinking that led you into the problem in the first place”

Everyone is capable of change/growth, we just have to become open to it, and let it in.

Good insights. I like the quote; it fits perfectly.

My theory is that there are actually 2 distinct factors in how efficiently one processes and executes subliminals. Physical Limits and Mental Limits.

1. Physical Limits

Assume Person A and Person B have the exact same mental limiting beliefs. Person A is very physically healthy - they sleep 8 hours per night, eats nutritious foods, and works out regularly. Person B sleeps 5 hours per night, eats garbage food, and doesn’t work out. Of the two, one could easily assume Person A executes the subliminal much better than Person B.

This is because their body is able to efficiently process the subliminals on a physical level. Their brain is healthier, their nervous system is working in harmony with the brain, their hormonal systems are working properly, and so on.

While Person B struggles to process the subliminals as their body is not as efficient as Person A. They may struggle with brain fog, they have minor aches and pain that dull the mind, and their ability to do introspection falls short of what is necessary to create rapid progress.

Sleeping well helps with processing the subs, eating well with providing the nutrients, and working out even reduces reconciliation.

2. Mental Limits

Assume Person C and Person D have the exact same lifestyle and health conditions. The only difference is in their mindset. I think you know where I’m going with this. Person C has a growth mindset while Person D has a fixed mindset. Person C will be able to realize he can always grow, learn and adapt to his surroundings to achieve his goals while Person D will face more reconciliation, thinking his situation is static and unchanging.

Who will get better results? Obviously Person C. Instead of growth vs fixed, it could also be gullible vs skeptical, hopeful vs pessimistic, etc.

Who Are Hardgainers?

I think hardgainers may possibly be people who suffer massive limits in one or both of these limiting factors. That seems to make the most sense to me. If that is the case, then hardgainers should first think of tackling whichever limit is easiest for them to handle. What is the lowest hanging fruit they can work with? If they know they’re living a physically unhealthy lifestyle, instead of increasing the loops they should fix the way they sleep, eat and exercise.

There may also be some kind of spiritual limit as well, depending on one’s spiritual advancement. Notably the high flow factor users are oftentimes spiritual or even spiritually advanced. Maybe the opposite is true with hardgainers.

So this naturally leads to the possibility that high flow factor individuals excel more than others in being physically fit, mentally free and spiritually well-trained.
